Help... any good inexpensive SMS Texting services?

All,

Doing some volunteer work for a non-profit. They
want an easy way to update their board members and
other stakeholders (about 100 people) with texts.

They have 100% permission to do this.

They don't have a large budget or much money for a
monthly spend.,

They want to send 3-6 texts a month, to 100 people.

Any reliable text services I can subscribe to.... ideally that won't
bombard their phones with spam?

I'll be in charge of volunteer sending out the messages.

    If you want to pay, there are some cheap services out there..

    usually on the lower amount of text you pay more per text , and some charge you per keyword.

    Do your due diligence, I include a keyword in the basic plan such with my company, some may charge for keywords, etc. Find what option fits the budget :-) , but that thread is completely free method.

    Honestly with such a small list you could even send the texts from one phone and just choose contacts in groups of say 10. Would be easy to do on a smart phone.

    Also as linked in the post above mine you can use twitter to do this as well.
