Blog Article's Author Name?

Kind of a noob question, but here we go.

So in the past when I would write an article for another blog promoting my own site I would use my own name for the post and link back to my own website.

How does this work if you are working for a client doing SEO? I would most likely just hire a ghost writer from odesk. Whose name would be on the article that is posted to another blog? Someone from my client's company? Fake name? or what?

Thanks.

It's a good question and it's funny that I have never had a client bring it up. Either they write the content themselves or I have it written and post it.

This can be handled a number of ways, but depending on the client, I usually send the article to them for approval and then post it as an admin - no name.

Always make sure that you include a call to action in the article, preferably towards the end; a phone # to call or a link to click through to.

Hope this makes a bit of sense

      Thanks for the quick reply.

One question though...What if you are posting on another blog that is not yours? Like a blog that is within your client's niche but is run by someone else? Still no name?

        Gotcha!

Yes, if you are posting on another blog you can post using your client's name(with their approval of course) and of course if the article is written really well. This is probably better than posting with a pen name.

It establishes credibility for your client as a trusted authority in his/her field of expertise.

        Hope this helps
