Yeah, AdSense is pretty much a must for directory sites. Clickbank/Amazon are not bad ideas either. I always throw up some relevant Amazon books and what not on my AdSense sites. It helps level out the "slow" adsense days.

It's quite tricky to monetize a directory, nothing of the regular stuff will work (adsense & aff). Maybe you should try selling links on it or some PRO plan.
