WP layout

Not sure if I should put this here.
I am doing a site for a Dr - on the BIO page I will be basically putting his resume to show his education etc. Problem is that it looks like crap on the page. I want it to look like this:

1978-1981 (tab over)xxx schol of med
1981-1987 (tab over) xxx hospital
Problem is that you can't tab on WP - tried to do it in open office but looks crappy when I cut and paste. Same if I put it into notepad also. I need it to look like a regular resume - any ideas?
I tried to do it in a spreadsheet - looks better but the lines are there when I cut and paste it.

    Just after your dates insert this code: & #160;

    I had to leave a space after the & or it wouldn't have shown up.

    Be sure there are no spaces between the characters. For each code you insert, you'll create 1 blank space, so you may need to just insert it in there several times to get the desired look.

    It will look like this: 1978-1981 ******** School of Med
