Pitched my services after getting a car wash - Don't be SHY!

Hey Warriors,

So I was getting my car washed today and as the guy was drying my car, I was sitting in my car on my phone as a SUV pulled in front of me to get his car dried to. We'll on the rear window he had a large graphic for his home remodeling business. He has his logo, phone number, and facebook fan page link (but he did not put his website link).

The guy jumped out of his SUV and and I got out of my car and approached him/ introduced myself, etc. I asked him why he didn't have his website link on his SUV he said "Eh no one goes to websites anymore they only goto social pages..." I disagreed with him... I then asked if he had a website - he said yes he did. I asked if his website had a quote form on the homepage for homeowners to be able to request quotes - he said it did not have anything like that.

I explained to him that I've helped several home remodeling companies with re-designs and they've seen great results because homeowners can easily request a quote with call to actions.

Basically long story short I told him I'd review his current website and rankings in Google and follow up via phone. He agreed and was very interested in learning more about doing a re-design of his site plus mobile version (which I'll end up quoting him around $1500 total).

Advice to my fellow Warriors - DON't BE SHY! If you see an opportunity - go for it!

Best of luck,
Ahmad

I pitched my services to a liquor store owner when I bought some beer and closed the deal on the spot

Good work bro! One of my first offline deals (4 years ago) I sold a website to the pizza store owner near my home!

Yup. When I was the assistant to a custom home builder (EXPENSIVE custom homes...in a role I took care of turning a huge lot into a 6-lot subdivision...complete with sewer and other hookups), we were sitting in his truck going over some drawings...a young guy tapped on the window and asked "Are you guys builders?"

Turned out he was a drywalling contractor. We needed a drywalling contractor. Put him to work later that week.

Always be ready with your 30-second commercial.

You got it! I love doing this when I'm out and about! It's a great way to get free exposure just for chatting with a local business owner for a few mins.

The auto window graphics info just triggered an idea for instant conversion. QR code window clings or graphic door magnets so people can capture your info quickly. Not many will take down a phone number, or remember a FB or webpage address, but they can quickly hit your QR code for later.

Partner up w/ window graphics companies and door magnet companies to offer this service to their customers. It's a no brainer.

Selling outside of the standard office setting can be extremely effective.

Gas stations are a great place to strike up conversations and close deals. LOL Takes some b*lls ... and the rear window/side door decals are the perfect conversation starter.

Way to go. Closed at least 100 deals over a 13 year time span this way. Usually at the end of the day filling up the tank. The secret lies in what to sell them......

Thank you! Yes I've closed a nice chunk of deals just by striking up conversation at random places

I love networking like this...it definitely works!

      Thanks,
