$67,500 In 3 Months The Easy Way From Customer Re-Activation

Be a hero to business owners by bringing in fast money.

They invest $1 and get back $41

That's what a chiropractor got from sending out special letters.

Here's what he did...

SENT: 600 letters

INVESTMENT: $2.70 per letter sent, $1620 total

RETURN ON INVESTMENT: An additional $67,500 over 3 months, 41 to 1 return.

Having PROVEN fast cash campaigns in your bag of tricks,
that clients fully understand what you are doing,
makes for an easy sell.

Here's the email you send out to chiropractors, dentists, optomoterists...

BODY: Hi,

We have a proven mailer that brings in patients.

One practice got a 41 to 1 return on investment within 3 months.

If this is something you may be interested in, then reply to this email
and I'll send you an example of the letter that got the 41 to return on investment.

Now you are speaking their language.

What the magic mailer is, is a ressurrect letter.

The example of the chiro. was for sending out to patients that hadn't been in for over 12 months.

He offered a "FREE TUNE UP" which led to further paid bookings of $67,500
over the next 3 months.

Now here's how you make the money.

You get a upfront fee for your "design work".

You get paid per each postcard that goes out.

If you go to Postcard Mania, they will do the whole thing for you for about .50 cents.

You can charge whatever you want over that, which will be a whole lot less than the $2.70
the chiro. paid for a letter.

Postcard will be just as effective, possibly more.

So there you have a "easy money plan" for your health professional and yourself!

Best,
Ewen

Good one, Ewen. I used to do this one for lawyers. "Update your Will" type letter to those in their Will's vault. For people dealing with attorneys, always remember they make their later life income from Wills because a large majority of people will assign their lawyer as an executor, which they get a percentage of the estate for. So they may only make $200 for a will set, but it can mean millions for them later in their practice.

        So right Ian!

John just gave Attorneys as a great one.

Once you have bought back past clients to them,
then you can do mailings for new clients.

          Ewen,

What am I missing? If you send them a copy of the resurrect letter, what stops them from just sending it out. It seems to me you have some sort of stop gap procedure so they don't think this is your gift to them.

Don't get me wrong. I like your ingenuity and since it works, bravo. However, as I read the email it sounded like your intent was to give them the letter.

          Thanks for your post.

            Very good point Tom!

Send them the front half of the postcard.

They don't get the whole lot, just enough to know it's
about getting their old customers to come back.

Those are good points Tom, but given all that most small business owners have to deal with on a daily basis, I think given a choice of paying you $2 - $3 a letter to mail something out vs. having to pay their staff extra to print, address and stamp a few hundred or more letters or postcards themselves, most would probably choose to just pay you to take care of it all for them.

Most doctors that I know outsource billing and other tasks to people outside their offices, so while a few may want to tackle this on their own, I think most would be happy to pay someone to do this for them.

            Cheers,

            Steve

    Ewen,
This is what some of the big marketers are offering. I have a similar course I purchased from bob Serling. I am also aware that people like Jay Abraham use a customer re-activisation mailing campaign for clients. Most take an upfront retainer plus a percentage of the ongoing profits generated.
I've never tried to get clients it via email but I might give it a go based on your experience.

      Hi Rich,

Does Bob Serling have new client acquisitions pre-tested mailers as well as re-activation mailers?

      And many industry specific ones?

Bob uses phone scripts to get your first few clients. He recommends approaching your friends or getting friends to refer your first business. Once you have a couple of businesses you are working with he does have a template mailer to expand your business.

            Ewen,
Bob's mailers depend on you getting your own testimonials to kick it off. He recommends getting 3 testimonials from one local industry and then using these. I guess this is the sticking point for many as many know mailers work well especially when targeted and backed up with facts.

I think this is a great idea. I have been doing something similar with success, however, I have a two pronged approach. I also make money from the postcard sales. The postcards start at $0.31 and go as high as $0.62 per card (Plus postage) for a custom designed card that you do yourself right from your computer. The company then prints and mails the card for you. For more details, have a look at the 3 minute video here www.amuletic.com as it is all explained. Great little program that nicely dovetails into my other marketing activities, IMHO. Thank

Some years ago....I was at a Chamber of Comm luncheon and the guy sitting at the table with me owned a Ramada Inn.

It was this time of year, February....and the topic was; "What kind of "Tourist Season" are we gonna have this year?"

          So...as the conversation went on...I got one of my "HOT Flashes". I was looking at the Ramada Inn owner and I asked;

"Hey Doug!....I used 2 of your Complimentary Passes last weekend as a "Gift" for friends of mine AND...I watched as they filled in the REGISTRATION CARD and gave it back to the clerk. WHAT DO YOU DO WITH THOSE REGISTRATION CARDS?"

He responded with; "Well....we put them in a Box and save them! We have a whole storage room filled with these boxes! Probably a few thousand of 'em"

I came back with: "Holy Camoly! Why don't you send out Cards to Guests who've stayed here....telling them...if they stay for 2 nights, they get the 2nd night at half price!"....or...."Stay 2 nights and get 3rd night FREE!"

          The guy went BONKERS!

He said he didn't have time to do this himself and, "Hey Don! Why don't YOU come over in the morning and we'll take a look at how many there are and how far back they go....and YOU can make me a Proposal for handling this!"

So I did and....it turned into a NICE income....not only from his hotel but others in the area. (I was in a Resort town at the time).

I'll betch this could be done NOW....in almost ANY town.

I made a mistake in the original post in regard
to what was used to produce that $67,500
          in 3 months.

The Auckland Chiro used a letter with something else inside it
          and envelope.

My purpose of the original post was how Warriors can use that same concept with postcards for their clients.

What else was inside that letter has to remain a secret because I have a gentleman's agreement with another Warrior not to divulge it.

Love this stuff. I was actually thinking about doing something similar for a client we have right now. He has a service type business and says that direct mail doesn't work. That's because he has no marketing experience and wouldn't even know what the term "ad copy" means.

The tricky thing is I wanted to do it on a contingency type basis where I get a percentage of increase sales directly related to the mailing. Just need to figure out the tracking and contract for this type of service.

If I end up doing this I'll keep you guys informed!

If I remember correctly, there was a WSO here about doing this kind of thing about a year ago. Can't remember the details right now, but I'll post a link if I come across it.

In any event, reactivating past clients and continuing to sell more to existing clients is a great way to dramatically increase someone's business.

I don't recall the WSO Steve.

I was going to post the actual letter and the item that went with it,
but another member has asked me not to do it, because he wanted to
use it as part of a WSO.

That's the beauty of having proven high roi mailings, you
simply plug them into another business and have a higher success
rate than if starting from scratch.

      Best,
      Ewen

Awesome Ewen. Working with an old school traditional proven marketing strategy. It's crazy how many business owners have their lists collecting dust and don't do anything with it.

If they just knew how contacting them will create an inmense amount of profits with an asset they already have and without spending more money on advertising.

This can work also by the consultant collecting a fee and/or contingency based. There's no losing with this.

Ewen shares a good idea, asks nothing in return and you are complaining?

He just said he doesn't plan to come out with a WSO on this.

When you make a post sharing an idea you aren't under any obligation to share your whole business plan with other people. Take what other people are willing to share and do your own research to fill in the cracks.

I agree. I used to do this kind of stuff but it's been awhile. I did copywriting and had a few big scores but I got kind of burnt out on it. I always tried to get my clients to give good offers, include lumpy mail, make it fun but at times it was hard sell because they all want to look "professional." Instead they just look boring.

People like it when the offers they receive are fun or have something in them. I'm glad Ewen reminded me of them. I'm dusting off a few of my old campaigns and are going to run them with some of my current offline clients.

This gives me some new ideas as I had just been selling the booklets as a re-activation tool (for around 1.25 each) but now I see that I could include the mailing and make it around 2.25-2.50 and make a little on the mailing part- never thought of that! I would probably outsource that part. Also, the good thing about having something in an envelope (not sure what it is in terms of the post by Ewen), is that you can show them the item ahead of time.

This may be the same approach type of letter that Ewen discussed as it is a chiropractor marketing technique using a boomerang letter to get patients to return:

I think the costs may be a bit high per mailing. I try to keep mine closer to 1-1.50 including postage.
