      Not bad, not bad.

I was thinking of having the name end in "Marketing, Media, or Consulting"

I feel that the name should have some kind of meaning and relate to you.

    So what do you like?

Eagles, Jets, Music, Surfing, Bodybuilding, hobbies, passions?

    I chose mine to be:

GooRoo Media Marketing because it relates to my passions and what I believed in.

It had a story and made people/ clients / prospects ask me to tell the story every time they saw the name on a business card, flyer, or email message I sent.

I'm building something around a word plus "dotcoms" after it.

Along the same lines, you could use something like ...

Local Biz DotComs ......and LocalBizDotComs.com is available

        Good luck

    I agree with Dr. Dan:

Your company name should have it's own meaning, and just sound good for you.

I brain stormed for a WHILE trying to figure out mine, did word play , synonyms, what am I trying to say about my business in my name, then make sure there wasn't already that name out there!

I personally wanted UNCOMMON SENSE CONSULTING LTD Now that I have decided that offline is the biz i want to start. But it is already taken in the U.K which was a bit disappointing I already have M.C.B E-MARKETING LTD which i registered about 6 months ago so that i could ask for trade price lists to research my dropshipping dreams. I still was unsure what i wanted to use it for at the time so wanted to keep it generic but it doesn't say much or make for an easy url when clients might be typing it in which is an important thing to consider.

It depends on the feeling you are going for. I have one company name that is for sort of when I want a client to feel I am a hometown boy, regular guy (their go to marketing guy) and another that means I work for a professional "national business solutions company". The later is going to of course charge more. Sort of like Black and Decker and Dewalt.

Just one piece of advice. Be VERY careful while picking a name because you are setting a tone that will permeate your business for some time.

You asked what troubles I had naming it. One, I really wanted a cool name but cool names are not search engine friendly or necessarily project what you want to project. The large corporation sounding one actually is similar to an actual large canadian corp and uses their same color scheme in the logo and idea so it RELATES in their mind as being a large corp. But I hated the name in the beginning.

I have no agenda but to help those in the same situation. This I feel will pay the bills.
