My QR Code strategy for local music school

One of my clients is a local music and arts school and they said they were going to create an ad in the program book of an upcoming musical play. This play is being performed by high school students looking to get into singing and acting.

It was only going to be a business card sized ad. So I told them, rather than put a typical ad that mentions your company name and address, let's create an ad that might actually get you business.

I told them that we needed to create some sort of offer for those who read it. They were willing to do 50% off 4 of their 1/2 hour lessons.

I then told them that you can't fit much into a business card ad, so let's create a QR code that goes to a mobile webpage to give a little more info. The mobile webpage will also include a link to their mobile site.

Below is the ad that I created. If you have a smart phone, you can scan the QR code to see what the mobile page looks like.

The play isn't until the end of Feb so I won't know if there are any results till after then. But I hope they'll get some new students.

    Hi Mike, I think this a fantastic idea, I like how you incorporated the QR code. Even though QR codes are getting more and more common I think there are plenty of people that are unsure of them. But high school students definitely do, they are usually up to date on everything new and techy!.

    Awesome idea Mike and definitely one of the best ways to go for an ad of that size. What you could look into as well is having a mobile coupon for the offer within the site also

    Now you can sell/create them a video commercial and have the qr code link to the video, effectively turning static print into something truly interactive.

      Going to video is great - especially since it is a talent school...

      What about a Video Audition page? Like a you tube link for "tryouts"...

      Funny you say this because this weekend I finished up shooting video for them which will be edited this week

      Hi Quentin....I guess you recognize that script?

      It's so easy to work with and so customizable I use it a lot. Between yours and Will's scripts, I got all my bases covered.
