How to Weed Out companies with Websites Already..

Im going through Google Places to cold call and alot of them dont have websites listed but DO actually have websites. Id like to actually target people who DONT already have one. Is there a better way..Other than manually checking each one ..one by one.

Thanks!

  • It does not matter if they do have a website unless you are marketing technology.

1.You have marketing message 2. capture lead 3. follow up 4. convert lead into a sale

Most business may have a website but they fail at capturing the lead, follow up and converting the lead systematically.

      Chris is right.

Also I would like to add that those companies WITH websites already are easier to sell than those without websites. They already know the importance of a website, even if it is horrendous and outdated.

I have been asking if the sites are capturing leads for them and they all say "Yes". Now Im wondering if they are just saying that to get me off the phone.
If I'm calling 100 business a day, iId love to reach out to those without sites. I think it would be easier to convert them.

Maybe.. you only will know if you try. I think your pitch is the only thing that needs to be adjusted. You're using marketing slang, which a lot of people don't even understand. You talk to a regular business owner about a lead generation website they won't get it most of the time. You talk to an owner about optimizing and reputation management, they don't understand it.

Capturing leads for them, is probably having someone send in an email from the website.

Instead, ask them if they believe they can benefit from more leads through the search engines(or just say google)? Of course they can.. they will say yes unless they're stupid. Then go in for the kill.

Common responses for those without websites
      - We've been in business for 30 years without a website
      - We only get word of mouth customers
      - We have so much work we have no need for a website
      - Oh my daughter or nephew does websites, ill have them do one
      - The internet is a conspiracy and the mark of the beast, I'm not getting on it.
      - I have a facebook fan page, thats all i need and want.

Those that already have websites.. are already qualified buyers. You just need to figure out if they rank well or not, then get them results. Much much easier!

    Hi!
Thank you so much and yes. I have heard many of those responses today but Im no SEO expert so those responses pretty much have stopped me in my tracks.
I do have several SEO partners though.

I dont mean to sway you away from the direction you are going but from experience, you will sell more sites to people that already have one then do not have one. I usually open with the following and it works WELL!
    "Do you have a website?"
    "Yes"
"How is that working for you? You must be getting a ton of customers from it!"
This will usually lead to two choices. They are happy with their site or two, they will open up and say, "Well, not really. I keep trying to get my guy to update it but..." Then I sell them on my value, "Fast updates. Someone else on the other end of a phone call or text/email. Works fantastic!

Not had much luck with businesses without websites because you are having to sell them two things: the fact they need a site and two, your services. Uphill battle with just the first one let alone the second.

I have no agenda but to help those in the same situation. This I feel will pay the bills.

If you have the resources to do so Sales Genie will let
you select businesses without websites when you start
    building a list to call.

Found that out when I signed up for the free trial, thanks
    to John Durham's advice.

Go to yellow pages, and check the featured listings.
This means that a company is paying a considerable amount for advertising. You can show them how you can save them money while getting them more sales (seo).

You might open your conversation with:
"I was looking at Google local and I noticed that you don't have a website."

When they answer that they DO have a website you can reply with:
"Oh, I am surprised your current webmaster doesn't have it listed in the free Google local listing, that is one thing that we ALWAYS make sure happens and we also..."
