Outsourcing Lead Generation and Sales

Hey Fellow Warriors,

I have found two great people on oDesk, who I have been interviewing for the past three days. One will be for qualified lead generation, and that is the one I have the most questions about. The second will be a sales representative, who will contact the businesses that the lead generator has provided and close the sale. I will then come in and provide the services.

First,
Questions about the lead generation:
- Should I have her call the businesses to qualify them AND follow certain guidelines (i.e. Do they already have a website, are they a certain employee range, are they located here or there), or just follow the guidelines and let my sales rep cold call them?
Wait that was my only question

Questions about sales reps
-Do I provide the Skype account?
-Same thing as above. Should I have them cold call, or let the lead generator qualify them by phone?

Thanks so much everyone!

You don't need a person to lead generate and one for sales, the sales rep should be doing both in 1 call.

Ultimately it comes down to what works best for you.. that was just what I would do.

Well I have someone who is very experienced in lead generation and someone who has over seven years experience in telemarketing, and I believe it makes it more efficient to have a single job, being their expertise. I think I am going to leave the phone calling to the telemarketer and leave the online lead generation to the lead generator. If things are not going as planned I will allow her to try phone qualifying.

You should be OK as long as these people aren't making promises over the phone that you don't intend to keep as a part of the service. Be vary careful especially if you have no way to record their calls.

If these people are using Skype, Pamela for Skype is a good way to have them record their calls. At the very least, sit in with them on their calls every once in a while and make sure they're doing it right.

If you're open to suggestions, know that having one person qualify a prospect over the phone then closing the sale yourself is very effective. You might see better results that.

have you ever thought about using an online lead generation system and then using the sales person to call and follow up with the leads?
