basic themes vs beautiful themes

OFFLINE MARKETING

i was scratching my head about what kind of themes you prefer for your offline costumers

those basic themes that are just a header with related business image, a menu and some text, real simple page.

versus

premium theme with good aesthetics, good typography, pretty images, etc

what do you prefer or use and why?
what do you value the most in a template?

Of course I will go with the theme that is the most beautiful while not compromising usability. Are you thinking in terms of conversions etc?

if its the price of the themes
if its the easy to use/setup
etc

I switched from themes to doing custom designs for all my customers about a month ago. Now I charge higher prices and my customers get a one of a kind design. Win/win

I would go for a basic one and then add components to make it theirs. Guess it really depends on the budget you have available. As well as the business nature like prian suggest. I helped a friend of photographer friend of mine the other day. He fell in love with a very basic design that didn't steal the attention away from his pictures.
