Quick offline Adwords Question - Am I wrong for thinking this?

Thank you for your time in advance!

Going to be using adwords for the first time today for a site I just put together for the rent-a-site business model. While working on SEO I wanted to rank it faster using Adwords. My question is it normal to have a keyword or niche that when searched for in google shows no adword ads ( mind you this is usually a competitive niche in the area of dentist and another site for plumber leads)? I thought I may be missing something or I have found a really good niche with no competition in a somewhat sizable city.

Thanks for the help

How are you searching? Have you tried using the preview tool and just typing in 'dentist' or 'plumber' to see what ads some up?

If there really are no ads, it's likely not a good niche for whatever reason. You find this sometimes with restaurants and other industries that don't quite get it yet but not usually plumbers or dentists.

I'm using the google keyword tool. My thinking is that some people in the niche may not have knowledge of adwords and no using it because the keyword gets a good amount of searches. Would this be correct?
