My Luck or It really this easy? Getting Clients

Hey Guys
I just officially started my Offline SEO Business for local companies on Last Thursday.

I have not done any advertising, don't even have a website or bussiness card
(Very unproffesional hahaha but im working on them)

Yet in the past 4 days I have made 2 clients and one more on the way.

Am I just really lucky or it is this easy for everyone?

Basically my business has been word of mouth.
1st Client I met on a train
2nd Was a friend of a friend of a uncle of a friend (or something like that)
3rd He was reffered to me by my 1st client

So I was wondering what crazy or uncommon stories do you have about meeting/finding new clients.

And what method of finding clients works best for you?

I find going to where the offline clients are is a good idea.

E.g Their business.

Also Some banks here in Australia hold Local Business meeting's to help new businesses starting out, they hold it every month or so.This is a great place to pick up clients.

Congratulations on how things are going, you've made a great start and put in action which is more than a lot of people do and you've got your first few clients.

In my experience it is not easy for everyone to get clients, thats why the majority of offline wso's are aimed at getting clients. Its a big problem for most offliners

In regards to luck, I dont believe you are lucky, maybe the circumstances may have been, but i believe you have received the fruits of the work you have put in (which a lot of people will never do) and deserve everything that is happening.

    Keep up the good work

Getting face to face with people who can hire you is the secret as you've discovered.

And the easiest way to get hired is to be referred by someone else to a business owner as you've already discovered.

I wouldn't necessarily say it's easy...there's a random factor in who hires you...but it's certainly not seriously difficult either if you're willing to invest some time in talking to business owners.

        Kindest regards,
        Andrew Cavanagh

I remember the original Offline Gold thread. All these posters with "Don't I need a website? Some proof of my expertise? A business card at least!?

          Andrew would chime back;

          Just talk to them!

Thanks for reminding me of that Dalidy!

          And Thanks Again Andrew!

Congrates! You are lucky but most of people dnt find it easy to get clients. It is hard to convince them for your services.

You're right; it was luck. And you created that luck by believing the following and acting accordingly:

Word of mouth is the very best form of recommendation, so just keep doing what you're doing and don't be afraid to ask your existing customers "is there anyone else that you know that I can help just like I'm helping you."

Take good care of those that you love.

    Congrats to you.
In my opinion, just do what we really good at and give them good services. More clients will come, naturally.
Meet new friends, be social out there. You'll find new people, new opportunities and new clients !!

    Easy to say, huh ?

If we could all get warm leads all the time like the one's you got then yes it would be that easy. Luck has a lot to do with it though maybe not 100%. If everyday you talk to somebody on the train and you get one client a day then you got a working lead generation system, not just luck. Expand that laterally, talk you everyone you meet, at bars, church, ball game, etc., and I bet you'll pick you some more clients. It's not exactly cold calling a business so you'll get a higher success rate and rejections aren't as hard to take either.

As for referrals, those are hot leads, work them hard, they're the best kind and the easiest to close. Develop a system to generate referrals and you might never have to do any cold calling. Wouldn't that be sweet.

Awesome work there mate, i have a similar experience, i have just started my SEO business and started with 1 client reffered to me by a mate and this client reffered 2 more to me and i also took on a client i 'met' whilst taking my kids bowling. I have now had leaflets/flyers printed and business cards and plan to cold call off the streets some time this week when my schedule allows

Keep it up mate and good things will definitely happen for you, just as it is me.

      Remember ACTION = Results!

      Best regards
      Danny

"The Harder I Work, The Luckier I Get" -Samuel Goldwyn

    I love that quote.

Yes, it may be "luck" that your first client referred you someone else already, but that wouldn't have happened if you didn't make the initial connection in the first place. I say that you keep up the momentum and get more clients!

Good job on getting started. That's further than a lot of people get.

I do not think you were lucky you just did what should have if you wanted a client.
Let me give you one of my own example:

I saw a guy in the resturant and I noticed he was taking away a certain bussiness card away from the the resturant,

so I asked him why did you throw out those cards: This was my opener.

He told me that it was his former business partner was stealing from him and that he was lying to their clients about him.

So I said to him I think I can help you and I mention what I did and he listen and told me this is perfect for him and he not only wanted a website for the bussiness that his former partner who was stealing from him

but he wanted another website for another business which was in the same niche but sub niche to this one

This is just one example i get most of my clients in the real world
Just tell people what you do and try not to sound like your begging them or trying to sell them something.

Give value and the rest will follow

You'd be surprised out how much just "talking" to strangers can do for you.

Also, when you do a good job for your clients, they can't wait to tell their friends, who are business owners.

My first 4 clients were from direct mail, very targeted, now they are referring me faster than I can almost keep up.

Also, on facebook, I caught up with an old friend who asked me publicly "what are you up to these days" , and I responded. He works for a doctor looking for my services.

Network, talk, land, do a good job, your clients will do the rest.

If you don't want to read a long pointless post don't read this!

Just thought I would add a story from last night.
I have to go to gym at the twilight hours of 12am - 1am.
    But finally Im thankful
Im usually the only one there besides a few taxi drivers.
But last night was different, only me and this other guy there.

    Started talking to him
Keep in mind im only 17, people are sort of wouldn't say freaked when I strike up a conversation with them randomly but they are not use to a young person doing this, also im not the oldest looking 17 year old either.(Barely a few beard hairs haha)

So turns out he just started a business selling protein and other stuff like that.
And BAM! I have another client.
But Is it to far/bad to become friends with a client and become training partners?

Also over past month learned a valuable lesson.
ALWAYS HAVE A SPARE BUSINESS CARD ON YOU NO MATTER THE CIRCUMSTANCES!

Plus how are everyone's endeavours going in the Local SEO Client world?

    ALSO!
Just adding I'm going to start an small offline Business.
"Using the How To Make $560
    A Week With An
Electric Drill" guide <-- this guy produces great stuff.
Any way got a list of all the top 20 bad neighbour hoods near brisbane (Basically any where south of the city haha but I can't talk I live on the south side)
Then going to bulk post a flyer about my service of installing peep holes in doors for $20. Easy to install and cheap! Basically $2 a peephole and just need an electric drill to install them. See how it goes.

    Sorry for the long post
