Anybody have success with "video" email marketing?

Before I start this thread, I am aware there are better/quicker options out there to generate leads.

I am just curious as to how people have been doing with "video" email marketing.

Have you guys found this to be a viable solution?

I do my fair share of email marketing to get generate leads, but I have personally never ventured into the video aspect of it.

Curious as to success/failures you may be having with it.

Thanks

I've tried it with a few different approaches and services and with not much luck at all. It's pretty time consuming, and you'd probably have to do follow up calls (which I didn't do). Following up by phone to make sure they watched the video is probably your best bet if you go this route.

I don't think you can evaluate video email as successful or a failure but rather as part of your marketing process. If you use VE as part of your email campaign you will probably be more successful with your efforts than just using email marketing along. VE should be used a support - not as a means and you will have more 'success' with it.

This is one way that I have used video in the sales process. After setting an appointment I tell the prospect that I will send a confirmation to their email. Then I record a short 30-60 second message just stating stuff like "great speaking with you, look forward to meeting, check out our website, type stuff" and upload to youtube.
The idea is to make them feel like they already know you when you meet, especially important if you are cold calling.
NO ONE does this, very few sales people will even bother to send an
email confirmation let alone an actual video introduction. On top of that you already score in their mind for doing what you said you will do by sending a confirmation.

It just sets the tone for a positive meeting to take place and they are less likely to flake on the appointment as they know you are a serious business person, if you do it right they are actually excited to meet with you.
