Google Places and UPS Mailbox

Does anyone use the UPS mailbox as their address for their business on Google Places?

I just went to UPS and asked them about it. There are two types of accounts: personal and business.

Personal is $48 for quarterly with $12.50 set up fee and business is $70 for quarterly with $12.50 set up fee as well. I thought month by month was available but I guess not. I only need a month to receive the postcard.

My question is does it matter if I set up the mailbox under personal and have the Google postcard delivered to the mailbox? They told me that for the personal mailbox only mail under my name will be delivered to the mailbox. The business can have the business name and my name.

Do they really check what goes into your mailbox?

Also, can I set up more than one places page under the same mailbox or would it be better to have separate ones?

Thanks!

It might be against their rules, but they don't do anything about it anymore. I see some top players using po boxes to control the market.

It seems like, since they started to mail cards to confirm the GPlaces, they quit removing listings with mailbox addresses... Just my observation.

It brings leads to businesses. That's why they use multiple mailboxes. The rules might change or not, but it's all about more exposure and more clients.

In other words, businesses using multiple mailbox strategy don't care, if they lose them at one point, as long as it helps them to get more business now. That's all, really...

Also, some businesses located outside of their city center, use mailboxes to actually even get on maps.

Even though Google says that the location doesn't matter and tells you should focus on other things. In reality, the location does matter a lot actually.

A lot of the Google Places pages are near the center of the city. That's why I wanted to rent out a UPS mailbox near the center.
