I'll shut up and let Alec Baldwin yell at you. :p

I'd rather the ladies didn't grow them,
    I prefer them without them.

Sometimes you just need to hear this, or have someone insult you and indirectly motivate you

Yes, by the way, I AM in the Witness Protection Program. I could tell you who I am but then I would have to kill you.

I've always thought that these guys weren't worth the yelling and screaming. They've got leads! They deserve to get canned.

This sort of speech is precisely what turns people off selling.

Glengary Glen Ross is a great film with an awesome cast. But it shows the worst side of a sales career.

No coaching, no training, lots of top-down punitive pressure with no real goals ("Second prize is a set of steak knives. Third prize is You're Fired."), and salespeople who are unable to develop their own leads. Salespeople who misrepresent themselves, lie to clients, and use the hard sell approach to wear down their prospects.

I'm not suggesting that we coddle sales staff. But there IS a better way than what's shown here.

Great film. I would agree that it isn't the template for a solid sales foundation.

I think most people get into Web marketing to AVOID the Alec Baldwin-types.
