Job Title/Position under Signature on 'Cold' Sales Letter? Yes or no?

I stumbled on this forum after searching this question so here it goes for my first thread. Here's a little background regarding my question. At a recent tradeshow, my company got some leads and I'm working on the follow-up letters to send via email/regular mail. I don't know if it would matter but the company I work for is a manufacturer of scaffolding equipment.

I was working on a letter that, unlike most that I've sent in past years, I'm doing a little more thinking about all the minor details and this question came up. Should I put my sales position under my signature at the bottom? For example, it would read: Sincerely, (my actual signature), and then underneath, my full name, and (depending on whether I should or not) Sales & Marketing Associate.

Initially I was thinking of leaving it to make it more personable even though it is clearly a business letter. But I wasn't sure if that was the best idea. What the consensus out there? Yes or no? Thanks for your input and opinions in advance. I'm looking forward to using this forum a lot in the future.

Why not split test? Send half with and half without. See which gets more replies. Do this with enough letters and you will know which is best. And over time keep testing little things.

I know your formal title at work is Sales and Marketing Associate. But in my opinion I've found that people respond to titles that are involved with how they provide value not what they do.

What I mean is an seo company sales guy could be SEO Specialist instead of Sales and Marketing Associate...In your instance I would put simply Account Executive.

It's less "sales like". If you don't want to do that I'd leave it blank.

This was another thing I thought as well. Along the lines of 'Account Executive', I think I might use my bosses' title of Sales & Marketing Manager. We're a small company so I don't want to sound bigger than we actually are since we seem to do well by being the underdog offering better products and services that the global, big dogs.

Any opinions on leaving out the title in an effort to make it more personable? Is this a worthwhile approach?
