Email marketing for your clients

For those of you that do it, I have a "logistics" question.

Making a new site? I get it. Doing a pop up? I get that, but haven't done it. Remaking a site? Obviously that's like a new site.

What about adding an email web form form (from aweber for example) to an existing site where you have to go to the original developer?

Do you guys find problems integrating forms and rearranging anything that must be moved when dealing with a client?

Do you find it's difficult to get access to getting the code in? So far, that hasn't been a problem as I've made fairly straight forward sites from scratch (well, WordPress) and had complete control.

But who here has worked with and has tackled the problems with an existing site and creating an email marketing campaign with the current site the client has?

I imagine there's more to it than simply telling the client "what they are a supposed" to do.

Thoughts?

If they have a web designer/web team the client will probably give you the authority to basically tell the designers what code to insert etc. Since you have a relationship with the owner, the designers will do what you instruct.

If they want you to do the coding, you could just copy and paste their existing source code and place the email code within that then just email them the HTML file for uploading.
