Craigslist Question (iamnameless)

I have an ideal about using Craigslist (or any classifieds site) to drive traffic to a clickbank product I'm looking to promote. Some of this is my own thoughts as well as info obtained from this forum.

Basically in a nut shell, I'm going to post a message stating that I'm offering a free ebook for evaluation/reference. I'm going to setup an yahoo account specifically for posting of the message. In the ebook I will have my signature link redirecting to my website with the clickbank product I'm promoting.

My question is how many times can I post this before it gets flagged, and what type of traffic can I expects? I know i'm forgetting something so I'm going to post anything else that me be relevant to the post. Rocky

    Hey bud...

1.) Craigslist can be a gold mine, but it will take some work.
2.) Setting up multiple emails is definitely good, but you're going to need numbers too. If you only have one number, it may work for now.

Now your question about how many times can you post before getting flagged... maybe once. Flagging is user based, so you may get flagged immediately. Nothing you can do about that. There is a difference between user flagging, and your post flagging the ghosting system. Craigslist doesn't like affiliate links but it looks like you might have a way past that.

When you first get started, the first day, post one ad in your local area.. make sure it posts, sometimes the first one after phone verification takes a little while. If it doesn't post within 30 minutes, post another one in your local area, but change the words around and see if there is anything in your title or anything that would make it ghost you. Sometimes the word FREE gets you filtered.. first post don't type in all caps in the title.

After the first day, post another one the next day, same deal.

After that, you can post 3 a day, and that is the limit. You should be able to expand in other areas as well. When you click on "my account" you can renew your ads every 2 days.

Don't renew your ads all at once.. click renew, and make sure it posts... once it posts you're safe to renew the next.

Now if you're using other sites, like backpage or ebayclassifieds, their restrictions are much less. You can post as fast and often as you want with backpage.

CL rules say that you can only post once in a category. The key is to delete the old post when you want to bump it. If you have the same or different post in the same cat you can get flagged.

A friend of mine was posting once a week and all of his post got banned until he started deleting the old ones.

The rules is once every 48 hours, but that's if you play by the rules. Deleting the old post works against you and is highly NOT recommended to do if you want to be successful with craigslist marketing. Why would you delete the old posts if you can simply "renew" them.

Anyway.. you can't really avoid user flagging, people do it all the time to avoid competition. Just how it goes.

Also... The only time it is recommended to delete your post is IF it was ghosted.
