Does Google give more 'linkjuice' from one local website to another?

I just checked a few of the top local websites for a keyword and found they were linking to each other.

Could this have a big impact on their domination of the top few spots? Anyone have any experience with this?

    It might.

It depends on what kind of page rank and the esteem google holds the sites and the pages they're linking from.

Also it depends on how related the sites and pages are.

If you're optimizing for a search term involving a town name and you have other sites linking to you that has content and possibly domain name including that town name it has to help your rankings.

Generally speaking it's not hard to link sites in the same town together.

The most common way is for sites with the same web designer creating them to link to each other.

    Kindest regards,

It is a very risky move if the sites are owned by the same person. Google really looks down upon such interlinking. The benefits are minimal (unless they're on separate servers/IP's, different domain registration/whois etc.) and may even be adverse if Google finds out.

I would not do it.. The risks outweigh the benefits.
