Marketing to prospects long distance (google places)

Hello guys,

I'm currently thinking about expanding to a larger area. My city is very small and tight wadded. Do any of you have experience marketing to clients that are 2 hours away?

The biggest problem is...I can't get in front of them. When I'm in front of a client I can read them pretty well and can make the sale pretty easily. However being 2+ hours away I can no longer personally meet with these clients. I would have to straight up sell over the phone.

Has anyone expanded on to different areas that are long distances? What are your tips?

How would I go about doing this?

Like JV with a local company that offers GP optimization and get a contract going?

I would generate the warm leads but I would need someone to physically meet with them and make the sale.

      Thank you for your response.

Either learn how to close deals on the phone, thousands and thousands of people do this every day, or find someone who can.

I'm getting better at it. Currently working here in the local area convincing doctors offices to allow me to put brochures, fliers, etc in their office. It's not selling, but it's a start and I'm getting better at it.

          Will take your advice,

          Thank you

What? People actually can close deals on the phone?

Come on, David...you know phone sales don't work.

Sorry, I had to say it...

If you are hesitant to just pick up the phone and make purely cold calls, try this:

Get Jing and do a screen capture of the search results for their area (Flagstaff optometrists) showing that their company is NOT listed. Then, open up Google Keyword tool and do a search for Flagstaff Optometrists, capture this on with Jing also. Then, make a quick video that shows that quite a few people are searching for optometrists in Flagstaff each month and they are not getting the business. Talk to the video like you would if you were speaking directly to them.

    Publish the video on YouTube.

Send a link to the video to all optometrists with unclaimed Places listings in the Flagstaff area.

Follow that up with a phone call. It works across the country or across town.
