Any ideas or advice for someone who wants to approach a corporation that sells franchises?

Hi everyone,

I discovered something that looks quite promising. There are about 12 franchisees (across North America) who are selling a very high-ticket service. They are doing billboard advertising and possibly a bit of t.v. too. All of them are on GPlaces for their territory/city, but the places pages are NOT ranking well because they are far from fully completed. Also, their sites could use some SEO (there is no on-site seo whatsoever.)

I am not familiar in the least on how franchises work. Should I contact the founder and president or just the franchisees? I know that they can be on a short leash as to what they can or cannot do in terms of promotion, etc.

I have the boss's name, address, etc.

How would you go about this? Thanks!

Start at the top. Only the prez has the power to reallocate resources and change the plan.

If they want someone else to take care of it, they'll transfer you over (say to the Marketing Manager)...and it will appear as if you came in with their blessing. Now how is THAT for instant credibility?

Make your call brief and to the point. Don't say, "How are you today?"

This phrasing is OK, but it's in geekspeak. So turn it into language regular people will understand and not be afraid of. What will these changes enable your client to achieve? Get that into a two or three sentences.

Try Alibaba.com and focus on Foreign country men looking to invest in American businesses.

I remember back when there was no IM and they generated franchise buyer leads in magazines like "Success" and "Income Opportunities" magazine. In fact I could swear I saw an ad by Allen says in one looking back, but maybe not.

It was an ad offering to pay peiople a thousand dollars flat fee to write a book on something you knew.... You had to tell what you knew about and get approved.

He (whoever it was) approved me to write a book on how to play the guitar.... but I decided I could make more doing it for myself. I was like 19 years old I think. Even then I was loving those magazines and things of that nature. STAYED engrossed in them, and even placed my own ads in a couple as I was young and experimenting with marketing.

I would save money for weeks to afford an ad, then wait a month for it to be published,. then wait a month to see the results....

LOOOOONG process of learning. Thank God for the internet.
