Anyone know where I can get a contract to use (selling leads to offline companies)?

Hi ladies and gents,
I'm looking for a solid generic contract that deals with selling generated leads to "offline clients".
Does anyone know of any wso's or something that includes a good one? Or anywhere else I could get one? (Yes I realize I could hire a lawyer to generate one, but don't want to drop a couple hundred dollars...yet)
Any advice/help would definitely be appreciated!
Thanks guys!

Just write it yourself. Seems like a simple enough service. Just say in plain language your expectations of the client and the clients expectations of you. A contract is not some secret document that lets you sue someone or stops someone from suing you it is simply the mutual understood agreement and terms between you and your client...keyword being mutual.

Other than that, never seen one that deals with that directly.

You may have to change it as you go as well when you see situations arising.

Perhaps mavericx may be referring to a 'cover your butt agreement' - and not a contract?

Stranger - Yes; You hit it right on the head; I should have been more clear. I'm definitely thinking in terms of "cover your butt".

My business isn't to the point where this is a huge concern yet...but I want to make sure I get this stuff covered now, ya know?

I've heard enough stories to realize that if you want to run a real business like this, you want to have your ass covered!

Mav, sorry I missed this. You can always find a boiler plate type business agreement and simply pay an attorney to review it for you. Again, unless someone was in that kind of business for a long time, they may not know what they need to cover their butt against.

For instance, in a rental or lease agreement, MOST things that may or may not come up are included in the local rental acts of the city/county/etc. and the lease is merely to say WHEN to pay rent and how much and if there are any special conditions. In other words the contract or lease can say whatever it wants but when you as a landlord get hauled into court, most of the lease is not worth the paper it is written on. Then what is more important is the records you have kept ESPECIALLY to do with maintenance, payments and any entry you served on the property.

As another example, say you have an employment contract. One word can mean the difference between owning every idea you come up with and your employer owning it forever.

I have worked with MANY lawyers and drafted many contracts for fortune 500 firms and it would be my recommendation what I said above after telling them your expectations. Just remember it is almost impossible to know what someone is going to sue you for.

    Hi -

I posted this on another thread some time ago... Use at your own risk - I'm not a lawyer and this isn't legal advice. It is just an example of what I do. I use this on my one-page SEO/PPC sign up form:

"By signing below you authorize-----to use the below credit card information for billing for various Internet marketing services indicated above. Billing will only occur for services specified herein. All service descriptions and features are listed and maintained at www.mydomain.com.

YOU AGREE THAT YOU AND/OR YOUR ORGANIZATION OR COMPANY WILL NOT TAKE ANY ACTION, LEGAL OR OTHERWISE, WHICH RESULTS IN A CLAIM THAT AMOUNTS TO A VALUE MORE THAN THE AMOUNT BILLED FOR SERVICES.

YOU AGREE THAT YOUR USE OF OUR SERVICE(S) IS SOLELY AT YOUR OWN RISK. -------------- EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY AMOUNT OR TYPE OF INTERNET TRAFFIC, WEBSITE VISITORS, OR NEW CUSTOMERS OF ANY KIND.

YOU AGREE THAT --------------- ENTIRE LIABILITY, AND YOUR EXCLUSIVE REMEDY, IN LAW, IN EQUITY, OR OTHERWISE, WITH RESPECT TO ANY --------------- SERVICE(S) PROVIDED UNDER THIS AGREEMENT AND/OR FOR ANY BREACH OF THIS AGREEMENT IS SOLELY LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR SUCH SERVICE(S) DURING THE TERM OF THIS AGREEMENT. This includes loss or liability resulting from your web site not appearing at all or not appearing sufficiently in any search engine including but not limited to Google or Yahoo!, or Bing."
Your company name - or your name - goes where the -------- are.

Hope this gives you some food for thought...

Have you ever thought about using your own generated leads your self, or generating the leads for your self which you generate for other companies????
did you get what i mean?
I mean if you can generate the leads for other companies who will sell their products or services to your generated leads, Why dont you generate those leads which will buy your service??
A Good lead generation company make their own list of clients by using the same method which they use for other companies.
    Good Luck
