About to get start my office (In another state): Need advice.

Hey guys,

Before I seek legal advice from a lawyer and accountant I would like to ask my questions here first:

1. If I want to have a office in another state (because it's cheaper) do I have to pay taxes in both that state and the one I live in?
2. Would registering a LLC before I even rent out a office be a good idea or it doesn't matter?
3. Will I need to register my business in the other location also?

Any other advice or tips would be extremely helpful!

The best thing you can do is follow your own advice. Consult an account in the state in which you plan to have your office.

If you register your company in state A and then decide to conduct business in state B you will need to register your company in state B as well to legally conduct business there. "IF" you have a physical location. (office).

You don't need an office to register an LLC so either way, before or after it doesn't really make a difference.

If you register a company in a state other then the state you reside, your company shouldn't be liable for state sales tax in any other state besides the one your company resides in. Check with an CPA or attorney but I'm pretty sure this is correct. I've done a lot of moving business wise over the last 20 years.

Well the office (other state) will work as a call center all the designs will be done by me where I currently live. So kind of like business is done in 2 places.

Hope that doesn't mean I need to pay taxes in 2 states.
