Help finding highly targeted leads

I have a PowerPoint/presentation design company, and would like to expand my client base. I'm planning on starting to cold call this week, and so far I've been putting together a list of leads targeting large High-Tech businesses, because that is our current client base.

I'm thinking that I would be better of if I could find people that are scheduled to give a presentation in the near future, and figure out a way to get their contact information.

I'm not sure the best way to find this information, or where to look. If you have any suggestions please let me know.

Thank you...

I think this is going to be best achieved through referrals.

At the start of your business, you are simply going to have to call. After your first bunch of satisfied clients are sitting there with smiles, you can ask them:

"Is there anyone you know who might be experiencing issues similar to those that you hired me to solve?"

Thank you Jason, I think you're right referrals are how we've grown so far.

1.) Share a few of your designs for free. I know for powerpoint presentations I usually google "powerpoint templates" and if you can rank for that and get some traffic those might convert to clients.

Just here to see the shenanigans.

      Hi:

You might want to get a list of upcoming trades shows in various verticals - they typically include a speakers list - with at least name and company.

I think you could google for the trade shows in the verticals - in advance of the actual show and get the names of the presenters from the website. - just added this for clarity.

Obviously, these are all presenters who would be prospects.

      Good Luck,

      Bill B.

      Additional thought

You could grab their logo - include it with one of your samples - so they can see your work in action.

Thank you for the advice this is what I was leaning toward. I guess I will just google trade shows and see what I can find.

    That's a good idea, dunkinbb.

You may be able to get a list of attendees by going to a tradeshow yourself...the organizers often give out the list afterwards. You may not get them this time, but you could line them up for next time.

There's some really large companies that do the trade show booths/presentations.
Around here (near Philly) is Visual Communications.
I'd think a nice presentation on a 60" screen would incorporate nicely.
Offer a few freebies....they're potentially large accounts.
They usually work with a lot of six figure presentations for the big boys.
