OK, I personally hate how people who are directly around me everyday try to justify purchasing an IPAD for reasons that are as good as dead... But now they're got me thinking "Hey I could really use one of those for XYZ..."

Getting to the point: Do any of you use IPADs for presentations when meeting clients? If so how does it help or hinder you?

I never go to a meeting without my iPad2.

I always show video and website portfolio at the very least and its extremely useful for those purposes.

Do you pay the monthly 3g service price or just rely on wifi?

If so what plan do you feel works best for your needs?

I have a 1st gen iPad w/3G. I don't use the 3G because my video presentation is on the device. So far it's help me close many deals. In my opinion it helps break the ice because the video is very graphic oriented and they feel more in control because they are holding the ipad while the video plays.

Out of curiosity, what video presentations do you use? Or do you create them and add them to the device?

      Thanks for your input

I do not live without my iPad...I can do so much with it!!

There's this great app - iMock up - lets u design a quick website in a breeze!
Of course, its a mock-up but I plan on using it with my clients.

If you have a smartphone with a data plan, you can access the data plan from your cell. Different carriers charge different prices for sharing but that's what I will do. I don't think its necessary to pay more, but then again, that's my opinion

shouldn't be without a tablet if a laptop is not viable. Tether it to the smartphone and you are good to go. Assists greatly with immediate sales presentations and especially good if you are set up to sign the client up on the spot via the tablet.

I have several different Keynote presentations on my iPad that I converted into PDF files. Whenever a certain topic or question comes up, I can use that my own explanation or sales script and combine it with some really effective images that I can slide from one to the next to explain certain steps.

For example, you can have mini presentations on things like Google Places, Youtube channel creation and marketing, Importance of Keyword research, Social media... etc..

I have enough now, that whenever I go out to see a client, I basically have a presentation available for whatever might come up. The repetition of it also allows me to sound really comfortable and confident with the information.

The only time I use video for a client is to show him video work I have done for other clients. I do NOT use video to replace my own sales process, as I find that is really quite unprofessional and an instant turn-off to business owners.
