Suggestions needed in promoting a fashion blog.

So, we've got here a fashion blog wich was launched back in december 2011. At this moment it's getting approx. 100 visitors/day. We are targeting our near country and the rest of the world, we don't want to promote it in our own country. The site has near 700 backlinks gotten from blog comments on other fashion blogs. The blogger has it's own collection stored on the site but he mainly wants to promote himself at first as a fashion blogger, not a designer . What are your suggestions appart from asking for link exchange/ banners whatever (we've contacted a lot of other begginer bloggers with no reply). We also use facebook and twitter to keep in touch with our followers/tweeters. We also got 200 followers on the biggest fashion network - Bloglovin.
We think to get some featured articles in major fashion newspapers in our near country but it will be quite expensive.

Hope suggestions will come.

Depends on your target audience, but I would try to find the right "hook" that makes your client the expert or go-to person for a particular aspect of the fashion industry. What makes his blog unique and why should I follow him on a regular basis when there are countless other fashion blogs? Once you have your hook, it will be easier to find related ezines or websites that are building lists with a similar audience (for advertising). You could also do guest blogging. Or, product reviews for up and coming fashion designers. Or celebrity stories. The main thing is to entertain people and tighten your subject matter instead of trying to appeal to "everyone"...

Market your blog to likeminded people in the fashion industry i.e reach out to brands, stores, designers, manufacturers, bloggers.

I came here expecting this section of Warrior Forum is all about using offline methods to promote our online business. With this in mind, my suggestion for you is, you try utilizing word-of-mouth advertising. Befriend people whose race is widely spread all across the globe, like Chinese, or Filipino. Give people some incentive in recommending your blog to their friends and family members whose interests are related to what's inside your blog.

There are some decent courses out there for popularizing and monetizing a blog. Yaro Starak and David Risely come to mind. There are many others, all different in terms of content and quality.

I was first introduced to Yaro Starak when we were both doing Webinars for PRWeb back in 2010. Mine was on Social Media and News Releases, Yaro's on Blogs. Anyway, after that I picked up a copy of his blog course - I forget the name...blog profits, or some such thing. Nothing ground breaking but a set of activities that will definitely help you organize your blog marketing and become successful.

Risley is also good - he'll show you a bunch of ways to popularize your blog. His info focuses more on using rss and technology to get you noticed.

There are a million other "blogging blueprint" courses out there. Maybe check some of them out and take the best tactics from the lot.

For the short term, here are some things I would do:

    1) Set up auto-syndication of your blog posts to any place that will accept rss.
    2) Create some simple videos as v-blog posts and syndicate those anyplace that will accept videos.
    3) Find a couple influential blogs that are relevant to yours and guest post
    4) Become regular commenter/contributor to 5-10 other relevant blogs - the more popular the blogs the better.
    5) Use your blog name as the user name for all syndication, commenting and guest posts
    6) Solicit writers to help with content and blow it out. At least one post per day - with help, post more.
    7) For every post, do some simple keyword research so that your titles and headers are more likely to get traffic from G.
    8) Apply for acceptance into G News. Not sure what your content is like, but if you can get in, do it.

Those are some quick hits...hope it helps.
