Facebook for a Personal Health Coach?

I've got some ideas to really help this lady expand, but I'm getting stuck putting this niche in front of faces on Facebook.

Most niches I can create an ad for, but this is hard, because it's kind of hard to get people looking for a personal health coach.

I was thinking what if I put up an ad that says something like "Like if you.....", but I don't know what to put to attract potential clients.

I was then going to have her run a contest to get a free health session in person or on skype, as well as a free ebook. My problem is getting her in front of the crowd she needs to be in front of.

Can I go after something as simple as "fitness" or "health" keyword to get my initial fans?

Ideas?

Really? This should be as easy as doing one for a pro trainer.

Why do people talk to a personal health coach? What problems do they have that they need solved?

Off the top of my head, someone would want to talk to a personal health coach because they are:

    * frustrated in their attempt to understand nutrition, including keeping track of numbers like calories and carbs

    * concerned that they're unable to come up with a nutritionally balanced and focused meal plan to help them achieve their weight goal

    * upset about their weight, and their inability to lose or gain weight any without help.

Gym goers and overweight people alike, as well as fit people who want to optimize their health, have good reason to talk to a personal nutrition/health coach.

If I were in her shoes, I'd make a fan page, give some kind of PLR book away for Likes, and have her on there to answer questions on a scheduled basis (ie. Tuesdays and Thursdays for an hour at 6PM).

Good idea at the end, but how do I get her name out there? I want to put her in front of targeted fans.

I could split test something like:

-Like if you are having a hard time losing weight
-Like if you want to lose weight

This could also depend on what people come to her for, but getting on twice a week for the questions is a great idea, I can't wait to share it.

Remember how fan pages actually work: someone Likes a page. They comment on it. Bingo. All of their 200 friends can now see that comment, page and like. One or two of the friends take action and do the same. The message spreads.

You should have her make some quick 45-second or 1-minute videos explaining a quick nutrition concept...and branding her. Dole these out on the page, have them optimized on youtube, and post them where your prospects are. This is likely to be a geographic thing--people from her neighborhood will Like her first, and it will spread from there.

Another option you have it to partner up with a local personal fitness trainer...cross-pollinate. Nothing works better than an established expert putting their arm around another expert and saying to their list, "She's all right!"

    About your reasons for Liking:

People will not only want to lose weight: they will also want to bulk up in a healthy way, or optimize their health through nutrition as well. There's more than that first reason and so don't limit your promotional messages to just weight LOSS.

Excellent points from Jason's 2 posts, they even contain keywords and phrases you can easily swipe to use in over half a dozen ads.

Also don't stick only with FB ads, do Google Adwords (Banners with catchy images are making the rounds, good to copy that) and Yahoo ads may also work. Also don't only do paid advertising to get the word out.

Why not get her started on sharing tips via quality 300 - 500 word free articles that you distribute online as well as a free ebook every month with a different theme that you can share even with some simple press releases to give them some extra mileage.

Also follow all of Jason's advice as well... all of these steps should keep you and her pretty busy with branding for quite a while and hopefully attracting the right crowd.

Kunle, I'm thanking you for recognizing that I actually wrote him some copy...his 30 second commercial...and his prospect's pain points.

    That's usually around $1,300. Ka-ching.

As of next week, y'all won't have me to kick around anymore.
