Success Doesn't Take Action.

Not by itself at least!

I've been reading through some of the recent posts here in the Offline Marketing Discussions section and I've noticed that many people are congratulated for taking action - which is deserved - there are too many people who aren't taking action who wonder why success isn't coming their way.

But, there is more to the success equation than just taking action - just making yourself busy with anything that peaks your fancy will quickly lead you nowhere!

Success takes concentrated, laser focused action.

This is something I've been continually reminded of in my own business - when I try and do everything under the Sun, nothing gets done well - and I don't get results.

So, don't forget - the next time you see someone here in the forums or anywhere in life who has a good deal of success - it is not just because they did "something" it's because they took massive concentrated action enough to become a master - not just action to keep busy.

(This post was largely to myself - but I think some others could benefit from it as well - Anyone else need this reminder from time to time?)

Great post. You are right about having to be laser focused. Consistent action is what really makes the difference. Thanks for the reminder.

  • Yep -- very wise words. I'd like to add one piece, and that's AFTER you've taken and kept massive focused action, that you invite, welcome, and listen to feedback (even if that's through Google Analytics, negative Yelp reviews, or your mom), and then course correct based on it (tempered by your own good sense, of course). Feedback is the toughest thing to accept, yet it's your best clue to getting where you want to go.

This honestly reminds me of posts in the Mind Warrior section. Pretty vague advice, and then a team of cheerleaders arrives shouting "Rah! Rah! Go Team Go!"

Yes, there is a huge difference between being BUSY and being EFFECTIVE.

About every task you're going to do, ask yourself this question: "Am I working IN my business, or ON my business?" IN your business won't grow it; and you could probably outsource this task to somebody else.

Make sure activities you are doing support the goals in this post.

Dilly-dallying about exactly what graphic, copy, template, offer, whatever to put up is nowhere near as useful as getting something that's 80% good enough up there and starting to get feedback.

Thank you! I know I need the reminder often - I suffer from shiny object syndrome often - but I keep finding that the grass isn't greener on the other side - I just need to master what I have before me.

Thanks and great tips! I think the problem that I tend to run into is getting distracted before I can adequately "test" what I am already implementing.

Thanks for the comment! I am fairly new to posting here on the Warrior forum, so it is entirely possible that I misfired where to post this. I just know that I have an offline business and more than any of the methods or how-tos - this is what I need to hear most (right now at least).

To be clear - the problem I run into often is that I see all these great methods (either here or elsewhere on the internet) and I get distracted from whatever I was already doing. I tend to implement the methods, sometimes (often) even enough to generate a client or two, but not enough to make it a systematic part of my business.

I basically have to keep working and working to stay in the same spot when it feels like I should be building up strategies to run well enough on their own (or be outsourced) then move on to another strategy. I don't tend to get to the "well enough on their own part"!

I read your post as well - great tips - and I think you're completely right - newbies need to understand a basic sales system - then just pick a method and run with it till they see the success.

I'm not exactly sure what you're saying here philip - but thanks for the input.
