Best way to monetize the back/side of my vehicle?

Hey y'all,

I just took a job that is an ideal fit for my personality and skill set. I am excited because this job will be a vehicle (pun intended) to allow me to build some skill sets and a knowledge base to allow me to further myself in the way that I want to eventually do.

Part of this job is driving 50,000 miles per year going from location to location. I am very excited because I get to attend "Automobile University." I am going to become so smart!

Anyway, since I will be driving pretty heavily, I thought about seeing if I could monetize my vehicle. I do have my E-Book that I could advertise, but, I got to thinking - what are some other profitable things I could monetize?

For this, I am really just looking for passive income - I don't want to advertise any services.

I would think that CPA offers would be the best bet. I have a friend who makes $98 a day from each person she "signs up," and they can duplicate it. I had thought of making up (on Publisher) a sign that really stood out, saying something like:

"Make $98 Per Day on AutoPilot (or Make $98 Per Day Over and Over Again.) No Selling. No SSN Required. No Money Required - EVER. Computer and Internet Required."

I could design it on Publisher and put the magnetic labels on the back/sides of my vehicle.

What do you think about that?

Wellllllllll, if you want to attack MMO niche, why wouldn't you drive them to a squeeze page, build a list and market to them? Then you can choose any offer you want.

It would be hard to "split test" your conversions if you have to make a magnet every time it would seem.. (direct linking, you would want to know what converts best)

If I drove 50K a year, and I wanted to monetize my car:

By an easy , short , cheap domain (.info)
Build a squeeze page, offering some free report
Have a video of my smiling face on there, saying "hey thanks, you must of seen the ad on my car! Bla bla I am an internet marketing person bla bla I want to give you a free report bla bla"
Provide value to the list, then start selling your own products, or someone else's..

I can't remember where, but I am sure there are programs/companies that will pay you to advertise on your car if you can prove you drive that much..

I would still want my own list.

    1. Get a domain that is easy to remember and something they will want to check out when they get home.
    2. Put that and only that on the car. Use the mystery.
    3. Now put offers on that site and find the ones that convert.

The key is the mystery. I'm more likely to go check out a random site like that vs read your "copy" on the car

Maybe even make a blog following your travels and put the offers into the blog posts. Aka "help me by helping yourself to these great offers...."

The key will be the webaddress. make sure it is a .com Long will be fine as long as it gets attention and can be remembered.

    AaronDrives50K.com for example

    WatchAaronDrive.com

    MyWifeSaidThisWouldWork.com

Not sure if those are available or not but you see how it works.

I have a sign company and actually made a half-hearted attempt a few years ago to sell vinyl lettering and magnetic signs with domain names to website owners.

      Few suggestions.....
-what Aaron said about the Domain name...and the shorter the better....the font can be larger (.info and other less used extensions will offer more selection for something memorable and short)
-vinyl letters on the top of the rear window
-vinyl letters on top of front window....reversed....people can read it in their rear view mirror at a light....like an ambulance does
-use reflective vinyl....it illuminates from headlights...like a street sign
-always on the outside of the glass.....and always white (glass actually reflects black, so black lettering doesn't stand out....and glare greatly reduces visability of lettering behind glass)
-don't make the lettering toooo large....there are state laws about obstructing view
-if you're tempted to put vinyl lettering on painted surfaces, know that you'll probably do damage removing the letters and over a period of time the paint will be discolored
(you can get a removable vinyl for short times)
-magnetic signs on the side are ok, but I wouldn't suggest having them on going down a highway.....they could fly off and cause an accident. And make sure the surface is clean and flat. (and if you leave them on overnight, they'll probably end up in a college dorm room)

If you can invest the $3500 of so to get started, a car wrap cannot be beat in terms of cost per impression.

I would love to see someone do a direct response wrap where they advertise a car insurance cpa offer for example, scan a qr code on the vehicle that takes them to a quote page. There are lots of ways to do this, just want to see someone try it.

Perhaps the best bench ad I have ever seen that would transfer to the back of a car easy was something like "Nomorekneepain.com" or something along those lines. No pictures. No fancy text. Easy to read FAST. It was so simple yet so effective. There are plenty of variations on this theme.

I have no agenda but to help those in the same situation. This I feel will pay the bills.

The title of my site, which is designed to promote my E-Book, has a title that would resonate with the "Occupy Wall Street" book - though that's not the object at all. What do you think about that?

I have a friend who has the car wrap thing and he does low cost websites. He gets a lot of business that way. It's on a Hummer H3.

I have another friend who sells a back pain relief device called the Vacuprator. He spent about $100 for some lettering on the back of his Expedition. He says he gets at least a sale a week. I suggested he put a QR code there are well which he will do shortly.

I say good idea, why not!

What does your friends Hummer say that sells websites? Do you have any pictures?

I looked on his site and no picture of his truck (seems silly not have one). If I recall a wrap around graphic that says websites for something like $299 (can't recall the price).

I'd definitely put QR codes on it for sure. People can easily snap a pic to look it up. Fewer people would remember the site address to look up later, and surely won't take the time to type it into their smart phone.

I bet that would be good for that business (photography.)

I am stuck with 3 ideas:

    1. Putting my website out there (after I do a MASSIVE re-design, with a video and a call to action (AKA Frank Kern - who is a Master in this field, if I can say so.) I could put artwork or something, or just put the website, which again, would interest many, particularly in the "Occupy Wall Street" field.

    2. Putting some type of CPA offer/CPA site on there. I have a friend who has had a great deal of success through doing some type of CPA site that has several offers, and you get a total of $98 for doing it yourself, and for everyone you sign up. To be quite honest, I am questioning the ethics of doing it - not sure yet if this for me. It may very well be, but, I haven't made that determination yet. I don't know if anyone would be likely to go to a site that they see on the back of a car, but, again, they may very well be. Not sure. (If I got paid $98 for every referral (which I think is 2 different offers,) and I could get 1,000 - that would be $98,000 (ain't my Alabama math good?))

    3. Some combination of both - though I really don't know if 2 different sites/promos would be really taken.

    Unless it said something like...............

Want to save money? (My website)
Want to make money (The CPA website)

You guys are great for the responses.

You can get those wraps done at any of the national sign shop franchises like Fast Signs or Signs by Tomorrow. A lot of the strictly local shops also do them. Check the yellow pages....most of the shops that afford the large ads are doing them.

Make sure you find out about the amount of damage to restore the vehicle....if they do that....how much (agreed in writing)....and if they guarantee no damage (in writing, if they do it)
The price of the wrap could double if you need a paint job down the road.
