Selling Pre-Made Website To Local Businesses

Hey Warriors, I hope you're all well.

I recently bought a domain name for my brother-in-law who was thinking of going self employed as a plumber. Soon after he decided to just get a job so I was stuck with the domain. I recently (yesterday) created a 'mock-up' site on there with all my usual plug-in's etc, added some dummy text & images & it's looking pretty good if I may say so myself :: Plumber Fife ::

I have advertised it on my personal & company fb page, stuck it on Gumtree & done the Google hack [plumber fife "powered by google sites"] to find people who need an up-date/ more professional site & sent a generic Email to about 10 of them.

I was just wondering if any of you guys out there have any experience/ advice on selling/ promoting websites in this way.

Thanks in advance,
Robbie
p.s I am from Fife U.K not the U.S

I would get it onto page one of Google before trying to rent or sell it.

You may struggle getting it there since you have a .com domaim I see there are already a few .co.uk plumber fife sites in the UK.

But with quality backlinks you should be able to get it there.

Also add more Fifel plumbing content and get rid of the lrem ipsum dummy text.

Get rid of the amazon widget and replace it with an optin form.
Make the website more into a lead generation look.
Make some videos out of images upload them then link back.
Buy Complete SEO software solution: backlinks, optimization, analysis, rankings, competitive intelligence for 1 month for a $1 this will tell you back links you can/should get.
Also just buy link gigs on fiverr (refer to a fiverr thread here in WF)

Go to google places and/or yellow pages and find businesses who dont have a website.

When contacting a business owner always find their name before contact is made.
I use: Google Search,Linked In, Search for there Business Number,Ring up as a fake customer looking for services.

    Good Luck

I was thinking of that too. Offering a pre-made website to clients... I think that would make it easier for them to just buy it... they already see what they are going to get. But I think you can't just let it sit there and hope for the best. You would have to actively contact potential buyers.

Instead of selling it you would make far more using the way advised in the WSO at: http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...ng-proven.html

Instead of selling the site for a one time payment you use it to generate leads and sell the leads. Paul did a brilliant job with his WSO PM him and ask him about how much more profitable selling leads could be for you. Business owners love it because they only pay for results and you can charge a hefty price per lead! This way it could pay you hundreds each month for years!

Here's the video from his WSO

    Cheers,
    Steve

Yeah I agree...I bought that WSO and it is great...You can make a lot more if you just get it ranked and sell the leads. The work needed to rank it will depend on the city and if it is not a huge market, you can rank the Google Places listing in less than a month...Good Luck

Si is the WSO your referred to about ranking GP listings and possible leasing these GP listings to businesses or is it about building websites and leasing these to businesses?

Despite all the resources that we can find online, there are still many others who do not know how to build a website. That is why this business is going to be successful.

You can wait around for it to get on page one like everybody else is suggesting or you can find someone to buy it NOW.
Just let them know *hey, I've developed a website for the plumbing industry, just calling to see if you wanna take a look at it and consider leasing it out for your business.*

You can tell them you're trying to lease it out now so you can have a specific company to send the leads to. Charge an upfront fee and a monthly or upfront fee, no monthly for 3 months. I do the free for 3 months thing since I sell the sites before getting leads that way I can avoid the *well why should I pay to rent it if no leads are coming in yet* objection.

I know a lot of people will disagree, but this is how I sell my sites now. I got the idea from the demo site thread that someone made (forgot who it was sorry) but he was calling around and asking if they wanted him to make a demo site, then they would usually buy after that. I just twisted it around and built the site first. If you contact enough people, someone will buy regardless of your site being on page one.

Of course, you want it to bring in leads for them, so I'm not disagreeing that it's probably more perceived value to have leads coming in first, but if you don't want to wait around, you can find someone to buy it now.

Hey, once you sell it, then you can try and up-sell the customer with SEO services and Google Places optimisation...

Can you tell us more about the pricing structure you suggested with an exmple of real prices you might charge please?

How many sites have you been able to rent out by giving them 3 months free?

Has anyone declined to rent after the 3 months period?

You can charge what you want to charge. I don't sell websites for less than $300 now, when I was first starting, I was selling them for like $200, but was doing no marketing of the site, so it was more of a one off sale.

I've only been doing the pre-built site model for a few months, so the few who's 3 months have come to an end, decided to keep paying the monthly fee which is $350 per month...again, you can charge whatever monthly fee you want. It's not good to go off someone else's pricing structures (in my opinion) because you may not have the same type of clients that person have and your marketing may not involve the same things that person's marketing does.

Example: A lawyer can afford a lot more than a small start up coffee shop may be able to afford (in most cases), so you may do more work for the lawyer and charge him $1200 per month, but charge the coffee shop $400 and do less work.

I have said it a million times and will say it again, and later you can look it up that I said it first when it becomes common knowledge... "Deidra is worth watching".
