Getting Clients for offline seo business

Hey,

I have recently set up a SEO business after learning and testing stuff out on what you could call tests sites over the past year and i have read a lot on different forums regarding getting clients for your business and i was wondering why people were having problems thats if they were willing to let people know ?
Reason being is i thought other off-liners would get the offline websites ranked on Google for various keywords and therefore getting targeted traffic and from that traffic getting clients?
am i missing something here as i dont know why other offliners cant get clients..

hope some ones willing to share what they have done and what has and hasnt worked for them

If you search the forum you will find many threads regarding what others are doing to gain clients and you question has already been answered dozens of times.

I personally am using networking - I'm lucky enough to have an established network in place due to my existing businesses. Everyone does something different.

Once I start to expand beyond my existing geographic marketplace I plan to use telesales - I have been inspired by John Durham and Jason Kanigan in particular - you may have seen some of their posts.

    Good luck.

Wow, that is some sig you have....

    I don't SEO my site.....
I don't like dealing with clients that have found me through SEO.
From my experience, the clients that are actively searching for SEO services, like to tell you how to do your job.

I SEO my client's sites, but not my own.
There are enough ways to get clients without a website.

Believe it or not, people were selling products to business owners before the internet. If they can do it, so can I.

@NoobAdsense : Have you read your site? It looks like spun garbage. No offense, but at least proof read your copy.

This is why I decided against trying to "seo" my site.

I'm really sorry NoobAdsenseWarrior but the copy on your site has to be the worst example of written English I can remember reading!

Please, please, go to the Classified section of the Forum and get someone to edit and/or rewrite your content.

You will never, ever get a client with text like that my friend..to be honest I thought it was a joke at first because it was so bad.

        Good luck,

        Steve.

SEO your site. Pick up several clients from it.
If they turned out like mine, you will understand it.

If the guy is already getting clients, it's pointless to pick at him when his question is why other offliners are struggling with getting clients.

I have a few sites I don't SEO... I have sites that generate a LOT of money through SEO. I like it, I like the flexibility of taking a week off from calling and sitting back while sales STILL come rolling in. It's not the only way to make money but throwing away the possible clients by ignoring it isn't a good idea.

I've had great clients and awful clients.. some from cold calling, direct mail, craigslist, seo, and even on this forum. I think your clients from SEO might have just been a rough patch. It happens..

    Hmmm..isn't that BH techniques?

We increase your rankings by only using white hat ethical methods we have mastered and learned over the years, we build back-links “which is like a vote” from a variety of sources such as article directories, forums, blogs, video directories such as YouTube and many more.
I do not think you want to start harping on about B.H. techniques to offline clients.

Quick question for those that SEO their site and successfully attract clients. I have been struggling with this. What keywords do you use that people actually search on? Do people really search on "SEO", or do they search "how to rank high on Google"? Do you use a geo-modifier for your local city?

Boy, I would love to hear some responses.

    Thanks!
