Helping a good girlfriend

Hey Warriors,
One of my good girlfriend was a consultant for this one company call Pure Romance (never heard b4) and she was asking if I have any idea to help her generate leads. This company sell sex toys or adult products. Her current ideas for now are mostly through family member, friends and referrals from her party. She struggled finding women to host party for her. I've suggested to her about collecting their personal info (b-day, email) on a small card during her party and she can do market to them through e-mail. Local newspaper ad was another another idea, but I don't know how well this will work. I would appreciate if anyone could give some idea. I also suggested PPC since she have a site, but I don't know if Adword will accept when come to the section on adding the url because her site is a sub domain from the company's (i.e: hername dot pureromance dot com)

Thank you all.

LMAO... Before I even clicked on this thread, I was crackin up because of all the possibilities and SMH moments I thought of just from your title.

I know a girl that was doing that too... she was fun, but I didn't help her get leads.

My advice... find some swingers clubs, or strip clubs or something to sell the stuff.

first check with the main site / domain that you can run adwords if so then it would be fine to run the adwords as you only need the destination url as your gf's url to her section and use the main sites url as the display name.

You could try to run some interactive ads on an adult website or forum.

Thanks, I'll have her find out from the company.

First of all, you have to realize that her target market will basically be women. These aren't women who are wild and crazy and whatever, but they are your average everyday women who are looking to enhance their intimacy with their partners.

All of the Romance party plan companies that that I know of have two different catalogs - "Mild" and "Wild." the mild catalogs are suitable for general distribution, and they don't normally have things that are embarrassing or controversial. They will mainly focus on lotions, perhaps some lingerie, etc.

As a consultant your friend can offer both types of parties - mild and wild. There are some ladies who would be very comfortable with having a party that did not have all of the available items on display.

Now - here would be my suggestion for a marketing plan.

Since she is going to be doing parties in person, she is going to do local advertising and marketing.

Many Romance consultants have a very lucrative business by concentrating on bachelorette parties. They will generally have a very good turnout, and many of the guests will purchase items for the bride either his gag gifts or as genuine gifts. My friends in this particular niche say that these types of bookings can be quite lucrative.

My suggestion would be to place advertisements that are tasteful (the company should have a list of pre-approved advertisements that your girlfriend can run - make sure that you stick to the wording in these advertisements so that you don't run into trouble with the parent company) and make sure that she adheres to all of the local decency laws when it comes to running her business.

(No, I am not kidding. There are places in the US those businesses are only borderline legal. If you stick to the company guidelines, you should be safe. That's what they pay their lawyers the big bucks for.)

She can also work with local wedding consultants, wedding photographers, etc. and see if she can get clients that way. She can have business cards made up and possibly set them around as well.

As far as Internet marketing is concerned, it really depends upon the company. Some of the companies have extremely strict policies. Others are not quite as restrictive. You need to make sure that you comply with their guidelines. If you don't, you can get in trouble with the parent company and she could lose her distributorship.

        Hope this helps.

    Hi

    Interesting problem.

If you put in the URL you gave on quantcast you find out that the sites demographic is women 18 to 35 earning less than 100,000 with predominantly Asian and Afro-American background. A slight tendency towards not having college and having kids.

Is this the same market that attends her gatherings?

Adwords could work, however she probably can't send traffic directly to her affiliate page. It is probably not optimized for PPC traffic, and she might not be able to put in the expenses for a converting landing page. (Landing page $250, copy $200, maybe video to increase conversion ($500 -$2,000) plus ad-cost).

I would suggest she looked into the Asian demographic.

      -Thank you for your inputs.
Thank you. I have look at Quantcast's data and will probably try targeting into Asian women. Surprisingly she told me African women are her biggest customer...

Just a follow-up idea. Now that you know the demographic of the product, and you know that it reflects the customers your girlfriend is having, see if you can go online and look for sites that has the same demographic. Not sure if quant-cast has that option.

Ideally you are looking for websites where adding the products would be an additional benefit for the other party rather than just financial.

For instance bachelorette parties. I am working on a book about that, and if your girlfriend had a bonus that would work with that, I could send free traffic to her affiliate page.

Your demographics are going to depend on what area of the country she is in.

I can tell you for a fact that in this area, Asian women are NOT going to be the demographic you target.

Sounds goog. I will also suggest for PPC. adwords will not make any problem. You can also go for promtion on forums join groups according to your business and can do promtion there. Can distribute papers ads and other stuff in pubs, disco, clubs. Can give some thing for free which will not cost you more for attracting some customers.
