A Pants-Matching Service That's More Than A Suitable Replacement

Here's a great idea I saw in the back of an old magazine from the 1950's, a pants-matching service for suits! How many suits have been thrown away because of a rip or tear in the seat? The jacket's still good, so why get rid of it? Many times, suits can be split up and you can wear the top part as a sportcoat, but sometimes this doesn't make sense as the suit may be pin-stripped or simply look odd with a different color pair of pants.
This would be a great business for a dry-cleaner or tailer to start. They wouldn't have to buy any inventory either. Just simply act as a search agent and locate where the customer can get a replacement pair or "suitable" look alike, then collect a commission for the match. Find suit pants on ebay, amazon, online stores or contact the manufacturer directly. This would be a cheap and easy value-added service you can add to your business and wouldn't cost you anything upfront, as the cost is borne by the customer ONLY when you actually find the pants.
Or an even better idea might be to accept old suits from customers who don't want them anymore and make your own matches. Or from estates where somebody died and use them as give-aways or promotions to your loyal customers. Start a size database of your clients and when a match comes in, let them know. You could even sell the suits on ebay or elsewhere. It's up to you!
