Every Door Direct Mail... On Steroids!

Hey folks,

You've probably heard about Every Door Direct Mail (EDDM) from the USPS by now. It's an absolutely great way to promote your products/services/offers at the local level. We all know, that in certain cases, direct mail is the best way to cut through the "white noise" of internet marketing.

There are a few other threads/posts discussing EDDM, and now the ads are all over national tv and radio stations.

But, have you seen this yet?

This site takes it to a whole new level...
>>> Every Door Direct Mail <<<

You can literally "point and click" on your target mailing areas and get instant counts of homes/apts/businesses. Being able to visualize the mailing areas makes all the difference in the world.

Talk about a turnkey solution, this is like a one stop shop for design + print + mail campaigns.

No can do, sorry. You have to mail to the whole carrier route and you have to pick that route yourself, including labeling each bundle with the appropriate number of mailings in it, have it designed and printed and then bring it to the correct post office. Even the link provided still has to pick the routes. The only difference is, you pay more but you do not need to make that trip.

Buy bob ross's wso if it is still available, all the details are in there, Eva

In the FAQ's it states you cannot get the good rates unless you use them. Not sure what they mean since it does not require any license or permit.

The price is quite good if you can get it done for 29 cents a card. Doing it yourself may be able to take it to just over 25 cents which agrres with the post above about a $369 difference.

Seems pretty interesting. Of course the first thing that came to mind is how could I use this to sort of outsource Bob Ross's method. Unfortunately you're limited on sizes (11x17 flyers, 8.5x11 post cards and 6.25x9 post cards). Might have to give them a call and see if they'd be willing to do the giant postcard size.

Comparing pricing using either of the free design options you're looking at $2900 (this site) vs $2531 (doing EDDM yourself + print pricing + shipping). Unless I missed adding a cost somewhere it's a $369 difference.

If nothing else this may be a solid outsourcing idea to add to your services portfolio.

Ok I dont think some of you understand the playing field here.

This company is not an "outsource resource" for you. They are your competition.

Their prices are much higher than you can do it yourself, and there isn't any other part of the service you can't do yourself with ease. No logical reason whatsoever to use them. Their pricing being high is a good thing too....this means you get to charge your clients higher pricing also....so milk it for as long as possible.

After printing and shipping costs I'm not seeing where it's much higher. At least at the 10k threshold anyways. And the slightly higher cost probably makes up for having to bundle and deliver everything to the post office plus time saving.

One of the many nice things with the program is that once you fully understand all the ins and outs of it, you can do as few as 500. With my printing sources (which I can not reveal), my costs are lower than what you will find out there.

If you prefer to try to figure it all out by yourself, THAT is where most of your time will go. Or, as I mentioned above, go get bob ross's wso, worth every penny,

Program as in EDDM or Bob's method in particular?

I totally agree that if you're doing this full-time and can afford the time to sit down and bundle everything correctly and then take it in to the post office (or multiple post offices if over 5,000 pieces) to be sent out, then sure, by all means that's your cheapest and most cost efficient way.

I'm just saying this website mentioned in the OP may be a nice little way to offer a direct mailing service in addition to other services you may do for offline businesses that doesn't involve the time commitment that you may need to spend on those other services and clients.

It really can't be used with Bob's method anyways due to the size not being available so that's pretty moot.

Nah. Last I heard Jake was going to launch it on Clickbank, where even then it will be well worth the money. As if you couldn't tell by all the praise he constantly gets for it

I love all the attention on EDDM, most specifically just attention to direct mail in general. I get stuff in the mail from taradel somewhat often because I'm on their snail mail list and I know they do a lot of restaurant EDDM.

I know all my members aren't going to use them simply because they can get printing cheaper and get them shrink wrapped in lots of 50 or 100 so they don't have to bundle, plus we've got designers that work inexpensively to do 10,12,16+ ads, which taradel probably will charge a lot more for.
