Anybody know where most citation sites pull their data from?

Does anybody know where most citation sites pull their data from?

One of the yellow pages sites (Dex, Yellow book, Yellow pages) maybe?
I am guessing it is one of those sites that has had a good history of offline yellow pages directories.

However, I am asking those people that know for sure.

Thanks

Submit to Localeze, InfoUSA, and Axciom.

David Mihm's infographic is definitely the best thing available out there (although there are a few omissions even in the interlinking between the offered sites, an example could be that Infogroup sends information to Superpages.com, too).

However, I think the OP's questions is more related to that where sites such as Localeze (for instance) get their information. And yes, they get it from "paper" sources - official government databases, print yellow pages legacy data, local chambers of commerce data, etc (this is according to Gib Olander, who is Vice President of Product Development at Localeze).
