Call to action on t-shirt?

I run a personal training business and am about to get 100 t-shirts printed to give away to clients - should they have a simple call to action on there or would that make them too "busy"?

The current concept is:

Front: Logo
Sleeves: Business partner logo
Back (from top to bottom):
Logo
USP
Website (the call to action would surround this: "Visit CriticalConditioning.com for over $200 of bonuses!"

Thoughts? Opinions? Advice?

I would recommend putting a QR code or mobile keyword on the shirt so it stands out, otherwise it'll be a typical promo shirt.

One of my good friends does screen printing if you want an introduction. Quality work for a great price. You can check them out on *|*Tee Vision Printing

We're actually working on his website starting Monday but seriously he has top notch quality for a great price. PM me if you're interested or call him and said CC sent you.

And as far as the call to action, I'm sure if "for over $200 of bonuses!" is catchy. Maybe something like "get a free training!" I have no idea what a gym can give me for $200 but I'm always down for a free training or a trial.

    Hope that helps!

    Steve,

I think your t-shirt concept sounds good, but maybe add the word free in your call to action and I also agree that you might want to add a QR code as it's the hot thing right now.

    I wish you much success,

    Martin

Ask the person wearing this shirt how you can get a free one week membership

then set up a referral system so if someone refers someone and they sign up for x package after their trial you give them y dollars

    Hi Steve,

Having a commercial message on a gift or giveaway isn't a cool idea. People do not like wearing tees with commercial message (esp call to action) on them other than those who gets paid to do so.

A better alternative - put a memorable brand message. Or your positioning statement. Your slogan.

Or a subtle message that makes it look like the person who is wearing it endorses your brand.

Finally someone in the thread who "gets it". There's so much more to marketing than QR codes and call-to-actions! Those are COMPONENTS to a campaign, Not one in and of itself!

I would brand it with your logo, website, tag line, and QR code.

It depends who wears the shirts.

Get them on the bodies of 100 super sexy, firm & fit models, and you might get a call one day.
Give them out to the general population ... which happens to be like 60% obese people, its likely not going to work imo.

To be completely honest, I don't think they would work either way. I think in order for something like that to work you need to create a truely compelling message. Something creative, interesting, unique, valuable, that speaks to the masses.

Like "Get off your fat ass and go to the gym"
Ok thats probably a bit too harsh. But if you saw that on the body of a super hot model, it could potentially motivate a few guys to wanna get back into the gym. Either that or just release the shirts 2 weeks before the new year. I GUARANTEE you'd get calls that way.

In addition to the QR code how about an @twitterhandle ? You can just print it like and Twitter types will get it.

WHY do people think QR codes on T-shirts is a good idea? Can you think of ONE person that potentially will scan a QR code on a totally stranger´s T-shirt? Waste of space. Seriously. Go for a short and precise url instead.

HAHAHAHA I would feel pretty weird if someone scans my tshirt. I'll give them the sexy eye contact just to make the moment even more awkward. =X

Maybe he can write something like "I know it'll be awkward but SCAN ME... it'll be WORTH IT!"

All jokes aside, if this works out well please do share.

HAHAHA. If this is offensive to some let me apologize in advance... BUT... the one time I DID put a QR code on a t-shirt, it was done purely out of fun as a joke.

The shirt said "SCAN ME to See Me NAKED" and the code went to a mobile landing page with an "auto-play" "scream" audio and a picture of a naked monster that flashed rapidly.

We then wore the shirts out to the bars.

There was no point to this except to have some fun. At least a couple of times i knew the code was scanned because we would here phones 'scream".

i agree that few people would want to wear a call to action, but if you did a referral rewards program you could put a simple 'my personal trainer is awesome, ask me about him if you need a conversation starter' , could put this on 10-20 of the shirts just to see if anyone will wear them..

I think the call to action is way too direct and promotional. You might want to try out a slightly indirect method. I had a fitness t-shirt designed by nike:
    The front was -
    100%
    And on the back was:
    Fat free
    and the logo.
I think something along those lines except with your branding.
