How do you handle the setting up of an auto responder for clients?
Do you...
1- Help the client set up an account with an autoresponder company in his/her name?
2- Set up an autoresponder account for the client, but let the autoresponder company bill the client?
3- Set up the client's list on an autoresponder account you own, and bill the client for the service each month?
4- Or some other way?
Thanks

3, As long as you can generate reports for the client, and also sign a contract with them.

    1.) NO.
    2.) NO.
    3.) Yes
    4.) No.

I don't really do much for autoresponders unless it is a certain industry that can really benefit from it. I DO have an attorney client of mine that gives away a free report on how to beat a DUI, and that generates a lot of interest.

Not all industries and markets respond the same way to autoresponders and list building. Some are more difficult than others.

As for billing. Mark it up 100-200%, and bill them monthly. If possible, set this up in the contract as them using this service from you and if they discontinue the service, you remain in control of the list. Some might say it's unethical, but whatever.

You could also, set them up with their own account with your affiliate link and then bill them ongoing services fee if you are working with them. Depending on the market or how the relationship came to be really. I think if you are going in to dominate a niche and get leads to sell to a client then you would go with #3.

If they already have a list and want to implement an autoresponder I would go with #2, but bill for your services and any ongoing services you do for them.
