If you type in business directories, you get a few of the obvious uk ones.

How do I guage if it's worth doing a directory site in my area?

    Its worth it, just make sure that the companies are funneling to you. Anytime you can create awareness about what you do and push that traffic towards you, its worth it. good Luck!

    Yeah, loads going on in Wolverhampton - and you can also bring in listings from Birmingham, Telford, Cannock, West Brom, Walsall, Dudley, Bridgnorth, etc - depends what the directories are covering in terms of services/goods. Go for it

    EDIT - looking at the directories listed for Wolverhampton, all the usual players are there and you can get in front of them for local directories - you could even do them just for districts like Wednesfield if you want to go very local.

    Wolverhampton is definitely big enough for its own directory. Local search is big and going to get bigger.

      I am doing similar research for a biz directory software. I prefer it to be on WordPress.com. I started researching the Warrior Forums first and this is what I have so far.
