Here is my MONEY making plan to get NEW offline clients!

i plan on testing out this new offline package...

this is my twist, get a youtube video ranked page 1 for a local service business (plumber, auto repair, etc) then i would call them and assuming they dont have a website i would give them the page 1 ranked video FREE if they signup for a website package ($500 + $50/month hosting and maintenance).

i would then have a telemarketer call local businesses and selling this package.

i think it would be an easier sell since you can show them the youtube video already ranking and close the sale.

thoughts?

Nice idea but the poor telemarketer won't be making many calls with this method unless you intend on ranking 100's of videos or more each month.

true but it would make the prospect more excited on the initial call and increasing closing ratios potentially

I really doubt it... It doesn't effect my closing ratio if I throw in something similar. Plus... a lot of people aren't going to care about the video. If you have someone that needs a website, they're going to buy a website and not care if you have a video ranked or not. A lot of people WITHOUT websites, don't see the value in having them and don't see the value of being ranked. You're working against yourself in my opinion, because then you're trying to sell them on something they don't see value in instead of finding people that already understand the value. Make sense?

You could sell the videos separately, IMHO.

Great answer. But I understand he's trying to use the video as proof of his ability, but what else can he use to convince them to use his services.

(@ebizman) True hey man its your business you're free to run it however you'd like. If thats what you really want to do, then do it. I'm not going to try talking you out of it.

What I would simply say is test it out. You won't know till you try. Rank a few videos, but if you find out people still aren't buying the packages, you may want to learn how to actually pitch it. This is a set up that is designed to waste valuable time for free. My main fear is you doing the work, and people giving you a hard time.

So be sure if that happens to ditch the video idea and start pitching straight to people. This is like results ahead of time, but you're just taking it to a level I'm not sure a lot of guys would recommend. Either way just try it! Thats the only way you'll ever know.

edit: forget what I said I suggest you listen to iamnameless what he's saying makes a lot of sense and you're likely just wasting valuable time.

Like red, not trying to discourage but in all honesty,

This plan will have your investor wishing he never did this 6 months down the road, and you would not be able to sleep at night worrying about how you were going to fix it and make it work.

Dont try to get people to invest in philosophy. either make it work first in a way thats duplicable or get a proven model to show him with real non theoretical numbers.

If you were pondering trying it yourself, I'd say try it, but if you are trying to get someo0ne to invest 100k in it, I'd say "make sure it works first".

    This....

The 1st rule of sales is never try to sell someone on an idea. Find out what they need and provide that product or service better than anyone else can and have proof to back it up.

I like your thinking on this one. Provide value first. The "results in advance" approach is a powerful marketing strategy.

In addition to providing results in advance, you will also be playing on the law of reciprocity, which essentially states that people want to help others who help them. I think there's great potential in your idea. Go for it!
