Decision maker in international export brokerage

I'm going to give the excess inventory brokerage thing a try. But when you are finding sellers who do you ask for, who is the decision maker you go to when you call sellers.

Since you don't know the name of that person,
then give the reason for your call, who you are and ask,
"Who should I be speaking to about this Mary?"

They mostly want to know those 2 things,
so may as well give it to them first, then ask for what you want.

Needn't be more complicated than this.

    Best,
    Ewen

But what I want to know is the title of the contact person. So I can have their name when I pull a list.

So I'm trying to figure out when I call and see if they have excess inventory they need to move, who is the point person I speak to to get the deal done.

This is not a easy question to answer. It depends on the size of the company and the internel corporate structure.

Most of the larger corporations have a Purchasing Manager, Purchasing Director or Procurement Manager. The Purchasing Manager will often supervise purchasing agents and/or buyers, but in the smaller companies the Purchasing Manager may also serve as the purchasing agent or buyer.

    This is what they do:
A Purchasing Manager's responsibilities may include:

seeking reliable vendors or suppliers to provide quality goods at reasonable prices
    negotiating prices and contracts

reviewing technical specifications for raw materials, components, equipment or
    buildings

determining quantity and timing of deliveries (more commonly in small companies)
    Forecasting upcoming demand.

I hope this will help you. Most of the time it will help to google the company and check thier structure and find a list of officers and thier titles before you call.

Yeah we aren't talking about the stock market.

We're talking about inventory brokerage....excess inventory.

So when companies like toy companies have toys they need to unload because it's just sitting there you call them to find it, and then flip it by selling it to overseas buyers (or any buyers)

      Nothing to do with stocks.
