Any advice, ive made a big mistake

Hi, just paid for an advert in a local upmarket magazine for my company that provides local businesses with online/offline solutions, on the bottom of my advert ive created a qr code that goes back to a page on my site that promotes mobile/sms marketing, but the problem is they are going to be scanning the qr code and then getting sent to my desktop site, when it should of been to a mobile optimized page, its gone to print, so cant make the changes.

Is there anything I can do to the page, so when they scan the qr code they can read itlike it was mobile optimized, hope this makes sense, Regards, Mick.

Do you already have a mobile redirect script for that site? If not you should be able to put a mobile redirect script on that page of the site or even just do it for the whole site then they can browse on their mobile if they want to .

Are you using something like wordpress or Joomla if so there are plenty of plugins out there both paid and free plugins that will easily manage your mobile redirect, some do more than others and offer more features and support but if its a static based website or you dont mind digging into your theme/templates code take a look a this page...

        http://www.warriorforum.com/mobile-m...on-issues.html

I put together a very simple to use javascript redirect snippet that's based on screen size detection and also overcomes a screen size detection issue found on newer androids too.

Personally i prefer to use a PHP/User agent based redirect but for something quick and simple stick the code from that post right before your </head> tag on the page you are wanting mobile visitors to redirect from - remember to change the destination url....

        hope that helps

Mike is right - if you install an auto redirect code this won't be a problem You can get either a free wp plugin or just standard code easily.

Statistics show that only .1-.5% of people that are interested are ever going to scan your QR code on normal marketing materials if you are in the united states. I think you will be fine. If your call to action was the QR code, then that was a mistake.

no.the qr code wasnt a call to action, i just put it in the bottom right corner of the advert, pointed to a page on my site that promotes mobile/sms services.

Lots of good ideas here clearly.

Why can't you just use a qrcode management system to change the destination at will (I'm providing such as service just so you are aware). Honestly, this means you don't have to use various redirects just manage and track.
