New Online Payment Method

Got wind of this company while reading a news article. Looks promising

Called 'Netswipe'. They allow a merchant to download their software, then when you are billing a customer, they simply show their credit card on their webcam for instant credit card verification. If you read their online pitch, they claim to be an internet marketers best friend, due to the instant verification of the customers c/c, so, less fees for the merchant as there's less risk involved.

One of the backers of the company is Eduardo Savarin, the partner who got booted from facebook.

It seems a bit too complicated and early to try and implement for most of us on here IMO (I'm sure many customers will feel uneasy about showing their credit card on webcam), but, this might be one to watch out for.

    I agree...Paypal is so good for me.So I think paypal is the better option.

      Yeah, Paypal is good. But they can also be very bad. By locking your account for one person crying "wolfe". I think competition is always good.

      Hope this new payment company gives them some competition.

    It's a good idea but I don't think it'll catch on - people will be just too wary of showing a webcam (which seems public & open) their credit cards. Users like to see an app or device that seems like it has some kind of security.

    It's all about perception.
