I'm about to open up a website and will be offering the following:
SEO
LBLO
SMO
PPC?(haven't decided)
Web Design
Mobile Web Design
ORM

I am trying to determine if I want to list prices online. The main advantage would be to get those that just want to purchase on the spot and are shopping around. Most people don't list prices. I know that when I am shopping around and people aren't listing prices I 9/10 won't contact them, I will go somewhere that does list prices. Of course theres the other side of it as well about offering the proper package for the customer, and making sure they have 1) the best experience possible, and 2) I am maximizing my sales opportunity.

I've read some people get creative and charge a monthly fee for the website, I supposed I could do that and include a certain amount of SEO in it as well. I like the idea of the residual income.

I'm still up in the air about how I will do hosting as well. If I want to send them to hostgator and get the affiliate commission, or if I want to charge them a hosting fee and resell the hostgator services.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

If you're starting out, you shouldn't offer that much. LBLO? What the hell is that? Local business listing optimization?

Some of what you're offering aren't even real services... social media optimization or social media marketing? There is a big difference, and one is way more profitable than the other, which is it?

Stick with one service when you're starting out... you're thinking too big too fast and when that happens you accomplish little to nothing.

      Ya LBLO=local business listing optimization.
Social Media Optimization, setting up a FB fan page completely, making it look all professional and running it for them if they want us to.
Of those that I listed, which aren't real services?

You just don't know the difference between optimization and marketing. I think I chose my words wrong. Local business listing optimization.. you're just reaching for things to call a service, which I guess technically exists but, that would just be included in local SEO.

Are you doing social media marketing, or social media optimization...? Same applies with a lot of these things. I don't think you know your business's identity, which is the real problem here. You're shooting yourself in the foot by offering all this without mastering one.

That's a problem.. all I'm trying to say, but take it or leave it. A lot of people ask for advice then get hurt because it isn't what they want to hear. Anyway, good luck.

Nope, I'm not gonna get butthurt or anything. I'm hear to learn. I'm outsourcing all the actual work. Good advise, I should probably scale it back a bit. Thanks for the feedback.

Back to my original question, what are your thoughts on displaying SEO prices online? I'm looking at both sides, weighing the pro's and con's right now. I'm leaning towards not having the prices or packages displayed.

LOL, I was going to put butthurt in my reply, but trying to tone it down lately so people don't think I'm just here to start trouble.

Your original question... SEO prices... It's hard to answer, and it's something I have struggled with as well, not just with SEO but with many different services.

SEO... and web design, I believe you can post your prices... In my opinion, I don't think it matters. I tested it out before and had similar results, nothing too noticeable. I think my conversions were slightly better when I showed prices, but nothing noticeable.

I don't think you need to scale it back at all. If you know how to deliver on what you are selling, then advertise it. I don't see why you would need to scale it back.

Businesses have different needs, so putting all you can do for a business out there will only help you get more business.

As for prices, I wouldn't list them. Each business needs are different and since you are the professional, you need to assess the business needs and offer a proposal. These are offline businesses, not online marketers who are just looking for a backlink package.

When you go to the home remodeling contractor's site, they don't list on the website that they will put in a new bathroom for $500. They come to you and give you a quote based on your needs.

    That's just my 2cents.

Simple, because when you don't have a client base, you're going to be trying to get anyone and everyone for anything and everything instead of having laser targeted focus, and successfully building a client list, to then upsell other services in the future.

Rome wasn't built in one day.

The goal is to build a successful business. Pick a gateway drug, or service to offer to businesses. Get them hooked on you, then come back later with other drugs/services.

I am interesting in a SEO service but I would like to test before buying more.
Do you provide 1 to 2 days working free for testing?
    Thanks

As a business perspective I cant really say what works best as far as showing prices, you could potentially lose customers by the high prices initially, but if they contact you then there is the chance to sell them on that price or offer specific needs.

As a consumer perspective when shopping I always want to see the prices, i rarely contact anyone if the price isnt there.

    Hello,

In my opinion a good site optimization should be based around a well-chosen keyword profile for your site.

Every strategy has its own ups and downs. The major upside of listing your prices is that the visitor can make a decision quick. And if your price lies within his budget, its a win win! Another great benefit is that the transaction can happen faster than when you don't reveal prices. From the buyer's point of view - no emailing and waiting for a quote, no back and forth clarifications - all info he needs is right there - so if he likes what you offer, you have a customer ready!!!

You should NOT list your pirce for SEO services mainly because SEO depends on many factors which can affect the actual price of your effort. It is best you offer FREE consultation there, evaulate your client's website/keywords/niche/business and THEN tell your price.
