Offline Business Builder Series: "Anyone Killing It With Offline Biz Owner Referrals?"

Hey Offliners,

As I'm sitting here being a little ocd'ish with my lead gen. and marketing plan for the next upcoming six months, I realized that I'm not getting as many referrals as I'd like.

Now, in complete transparency, I shouldn't really expect to get a ton of referrals because I don't activelly seek them out from my clients.

I know, I know...shame on me.

Maybe in then next 6-8 months after I have a more experienced support staff, I will begin to work harder for more referrals, but up until this point, I haven't diligently worked at it.

Part of the reason is because I have fairly good results with my lead gen. campaigns. Of course, some of them could be doing better, but until I get more staff up and running, I really can't handle five or ten new clients per month.

Just keeping it real.

However, with that being said, I have two more staff people getting ready to start up in the next 30 days, so I can stand to generate more leads.

So, my question is for the offliners who are getting a consistent stream of 1-2 referrals every couples of months or so.

"What are you doing to generate referrals from your existing offline clients?"

I'm not asking you to reveal deeply coveted trade secrets, but could you share what's working for you.

Let me know,

Chris

Jay Abraham has a product called '93 Referral Systems', you can find it free online or buy it.

Some other stuff he recommends is to go out to find other companies who serve the same customer base that you do in a non-competitive field and cross-promote them. So for web designers/developers and IMers it can be computer repair guys, etc. You can agree on a referral fee for each new customer.

Can you share some info on your company? What staff do you need, who you need to hire? Interesting to see that (separate thread maybe not to hi-jack the topic..).
