What billing solutions do you guys recommend?

I intending to get my telemarketers to close a deal over a phone. I'm looking at various different solutions for this, Freshbooks requires a $40/month subscription to even allow 1 person to access it, which makes it pretty pricey considering I am just starting out.

What solutions do you guys recommend for my telemarketer to use to charge:
1. a CC number
2. Sending an online invoice that sends payment to my account without obviously giving him any master access.

Thanks

Pardon me if I'm mistaken but in Paypal, you can send an email invoice to somebody using their email address.

    That would definitely work out!

Now the thing is, the Paypal account needs to be logged in by me, and I'm definitely not giving him my Paypal password.

      Any ideas?

I could be off, but have you looked into Simple Online Time Tracking and Timesheet Software - Harvest ?

I know it says time tracking but I'm certain they have invoicing too.

Waay Baack in the year 1992 (I think)....I bought a software program called "Check By Fax". This allowed my clients to FAX or Read the Info on their checks....to me....over the phone.

I'd then enter the info from my client's checks...into the software program on my pc....hit "enter" and my pc would print a Check....which I could stamp "For Deposit" on the back and....deposit...just as if I received the check in person.

And....every month....at the 1st of the month....my pc would print out the agreed upon Monthly Check....whch I'd deposit into MY account.

There's other cheaper software programs nowadays. I found one recently for $100 (after a 30 day Trial) that works perfectly.

The thing I like about "Check Software" is....

      1) NO need to be concerned about WHEN I'll get paid (I just print out the checks and deposit on the agreed upon day)
      2) NO concern about the "Payment Processor" tying up my account
      3) NO need to educate clients how to get "OKAYED" to send payments

I use invoice2go app for iphone.

I bought my assistant in the Philippines an Android.

Invoice2go app is a small one time payment
        for these smartphones.

She invoices clients, synces her phone, it shows up on my iphone as well as my email account.

I check bank account daily and press a couple of icons on my iphone and the money owed is removed and goes onto the paid folder.

There is a running date showing how many days the invoice is due.

When they hit the due date, I hit the send button and out goes the invoice again.

In the entry you can put in as many entries you want and even store codes what they are.

You can add tax at whatever rate you want.

There's a place to put your bank account number for internet payment and also a place to
        put in a Paypal button.

        Works well for me.

So good in fact I can run my whole business on my iphone.

        Best,
        Ewen

I would use Paypal. Why not just have your VA's send you the invoice details each day and you can send them through your own Paypal account?

The other option is to just have a standard invoice template created that the VA fills in and sends over to the client. They will tell the client the invoice will arrive in a few minutes and they can then go and make their payment using their credit card via Paypal.

I don't think you will find many people wanting to give out their credit card details over the phone to a telemarketer. I certainly wouldn't no matter how good the deal sounded.

    Don,

I get your message: checks might be the best way to go. Have been
looking for systems compatible with my Mac. Found this:

    https://www.checkcomposer.com/

Anybody here use this? Looks like free sign-up and only 20 cents to
write a check. Paper & ink can't be more than a nickel. Am I missing
    something? Opinions please.

I have been using WHMCS for years. Although it was originally created for hosting companies, it's always worked best for me and has incredible record keeping and reports.

I always used paypal or a merchant account. I would say you could do a form that they fill out with credit card info. Doing it over the phone I would be getting signatures from clients. That way you have confirmation for the CC company. The other option is to do the old pass them over to the billing dept trick. Then, someone takes the calls and is able to send out the invoice via paypal. Freshbooks is also a good solution. Not trying to deter it.

If you had a small group of telemarketers you can use excel spreadsheet and group your billing statement per telemarketers. In that way, you can control access.
