Google Places Is Over, Company Makes Google+ The Center Of Gravity For Local Search

I almost wish I was a betting man, I would have laid some odds down in Vegas....

Google Places pages have been entirely replaced by new Google+ Local pages. As of this morning roughly 80 million Google Place pages worldwide have been automatically converted into 80 million Google+ Local pages, according to Google's Marissa Mayer. It's a dramatic change (for the better) though it will undoubtedly disorient some users and business owners.

    Well at least we'll have some stability with this for a while. Google places has been so spotty past year or so, maybe even before that.

    Appears they are using some Zagat Scoring system to control new placement....and to boot that...on Google Plus, they are pushing the Local Angle/Local Deals big time !!

    Sometimes this types of changes are irritating and disturbing. When I am used to with something and suddenly replaced by something else create a complex situation for user. What it seems is if you want to do anything with google, you have to be with google+. They are going to make google+ the only platform for all services!
