Most Efficient Way to Set Up Websites

Here is my basic process for clients...

-Buy Domain
-Assign Nameservers
-Add Site in Hostgator
-Install Wordpress
-Install Theme

And then after those steps, I feel like it takes me 6 hours to get anything great going as far as content and dedicating myself to one theme. What are some things you guys do after all the basics are set up to get some sort of an efficient process going?

I've heard and very slightly used xml imports to populate the structure of a site, but that part of the process is still very new to me. What else is out there I'm not aware of?

Yeah some people will swear by WP but I have found it to be a complete pain in the rear at times mainly when dealing with premium themes and what not. For me I feel I have to spend some time just to LEARN the theme I am using. But you want to setup your plugins and settings right after you install you theme then it may be good idea to make your pages and menus. I mess with my widgets last because those are always the worst for me. If all fails I would suggest outsourcing it. No theme is exactly the same IMO.

Use the same theme. Use WPtwin.

I find building websites with the Optimize Press theme to be pretty easy. Yes the price is $97, but it is well worth it and after you build a couple websites using it, it will be a breeze and you can bang out websites in no time. Also, like stated before, WP Twin might be an option.

There are 2 types of people in this world....those who get it and those who don't. The ones that get it know exactly what we are talking about. The ones who don't are left scratching their heads.

Thinking of Optimize Press. Any other similar or better than Optimize Press? Can add opt-in box like squeeze page?

Most efficient way for me to go about it is to have my web team handle it. It takes me 6-8 hours what my guys can do in 30 minutes. =X

I put off buying OP for a long time, and finally broke down and purchased and I have used a lot of themes and I can honestly say that OP is the best out there. At least the best I have used.

And yes, there are multiple "squeeze page templates" to choose from.

Does OP give you the ability to place opt-in forms in sidebars, top/middle/bottom of post or do you need an additonal plugin for this like optinskin or WPsubscriber?

Use cpanel/Fantastico deluxe. Have the site up in minutes and install themes from within wordpress. Takes me 30 minutes tops with the most time spent picking a free theme to install

I'm a fan of using a wide variety of free themes because a lot of these paid and older/over-used themes may develop a footprint and possibly even get your site lumped in with "potential spam sites". I won't touch a "CTR theme" for this very reason. It screams MFA.

I'm building websites for offline clients. From what I've seen optimize press is very simple looking and meant for pure lead generation or list collecting. Has anyone ever build a full site with it?

I actually outsourced the development of a better looking blog within optimizepress, and after I tweak it I plan on using WP Twin to deploy copies of it. Once I have it finished I'll post a pic of what it looks like, and I can give you a copy of the template if you are interested....

Very generous Mike. I'd love to see this.
I have found Woo Themes Canvas to be very versatile also once you get past the learning curve. And they just adopted a GNU license, so you can reuse and resell.

Sounds great. But I'm not sure if you can PM, however you are a war room member, you may be able to. If you get the chance I'd appreciate it.
