What helped you most to land new clients?

Hello warriors I am in the process of having some marketing material made up for me to help with my lead generation and instead of just creating a bunch of material I think will work? I thought I would see what was most effective for some fellow warriors if you would be so kind to share it.

At this point I have a few emails written up but I feel I can be doing more to get my message across to business?

There is no 'one thing'. You need to realise that pretty quick when you are setting out.

For me, it's been paramount to have a good reputation in my city and you can't get this immediately, you have to build it up. But one of the best ways to do that is to be seen to be "everywhere".

What I mean by this is, don't be faceless and bang out flyers. Get out and go to some networking events. Meet business owners and leaders. Join some meetups in your area. See what people really need and then offer it to them.

Here's 3 case studies on what I did to land some bigger clients...

1 Client one is a chain of 5 star hotels and resorts.
Phoned and said I was calling to see if I can get them a better deal on their x,
and who should I be talking to about it? A few emails after I speak with decision maker and they are on board.

2 Clients are mobile coffee franchisees. Stopped to talk with one to see if I can get him a better deal on x. Said will order from me when he and his wife are nearly out of stock.
Texted 49 of the other franchisees and they are slowly coming on board.

3 Cafe franchisees. Walked in to a cafe franchise and said I was calling in to see if I can get them a better deal on their x. Said I can give prices right there if I knew the sizes. Left them on the back of my business card. A couple of weeks later the owner phoned wanted to buy and get them to him smartly because the manager forgot to order. I delivered and told me the back story on the previous supplier. This opened up for me to contact all the other franchisees in the chain. They are now slowly coming on board.

Having a meeting on Wednesday with a cost reduction specialist who has
many of my target market. He's very keen to meet.
UPDATE: He's moved it forward to Tuesday.

That's how I got some bigger fish Bryan.

      Best,
      Ewen

  • Find out the pain points of your target audience and continually let them know you can solve it. Do this by giving them a lot for free up front. I don't mean give all of your product away, just let them know you really care. When they need your service they will contact you.
