Offline Business Builder Series: "Offline Marketing Is Definitely Not For Whiners Or Quitters!"

Hey Offliners,

It never fails.

I'll have a month or so where I'm untouchable and everyone I talk to is buying something from me. I'll feel like Superman for those several weeks.

And then all of a sudden, it feels like the bottom falls out.

Sometimes it starts with a red hot prospect pulling out at the last minute or a upsell package that I thought I had closed will require some more hand holding to get it done.

By the way, don't let anyone ever tell you that there are no ebb and flows in offline marketing. The flow of life happens to all of us.

That's why your favorite movie star, business coach, actor, friend or hero will dissapear for months or years at a time and then suddenly re-emerge from the shadows.

Of course, I realize that the goal of having marketing systems is to create consistency in your business, but there will still be months where you're absolutely killing it with little to no extra work other than using the same marketing systems you've always been using.

Just like there will be other months that it's like pulling teeth just go get a few deals done.

But, when I feel like there's some splippage in my business because I'm not meeting my numbers, I dig in.

Not in a crazy way that causes my wife to think I'm cheating on her because I'm away from home so much more, but I start spending some more deliberate time and intentional time tightening up my processes.

Then, I'll step up my marketing efforts by buying a (hopefully) innovative wso and then implementing a new lead gen system or even simply putting my ads or marketing pieces in a different publication.

The one thing that has really helped me is when I begin to embrace the fact that if things are slowing down then I need to be the one to step up and make them happen.

The thing about offline marketing that usually prevents most marketers from really making it work is the long periods of time with no one to hold them accountable.

So, instead of digging in when things get tough, many offline marketers just let up and allow their clients to drop off one at a time until there's little to no income coming in.

Don't let that be you. If it's slow right now, don't just accept the fact that it's the summertime and start believing that business owners aren't investing in their business right now.

Keep working at your lead generation efforts even if it's only sending out ten or twenty prospecting emails a day. Over the course of a thirty day period that equals 300 to 600 prospects being contacted.

It's not a massive marketing campaign, but at least you're still trying to get clients everyday.

Hope this helps,

Chris
